True Fated Marriage novel Chapter 689

A hint of panic flashed across Queenie's eyes when she heard what Heinz said.

Actually, even she was suspicious, so forget Heinz. He must have investigated many of her colleagues who had raised a lot of questions. That was why he came here to seek verification from Aaron.

Queenie felt she was really unlucky to meet him at this moment. Thus the entire matter had become particularly awkward.

It was difficult for Queenie to refute Heinz, so she could only let him have the upper hand in this situation.

"Chief Stone, you are also here for Jodie. You and I took the liberty to come here," Heinz said directly after seeing the pale Queenie fall silent.

"I just came here for verification. I want to know what happened to Jodie. Why did she come back six years later? Where was she during the past six years? Why did she insist on being with you right after she came back? She even tried to commit suicide in order to be with you," Queenie said angrily.

Heinz's eyes suddenly swept over Aaron and saw him rooted to the spot. Aaron's eyes were frozen at this moment, and his expression was complicated. No one knew what he was thinking.

Queenie continued, "Actually, I'm doing all these for the two of you. It will be good if both of you can get together. But when she tried to commit suicide because both of you cannot be together, it has become a very tricky matter for us."

"I agree that it's really tricky," Heinz said in a puzzled tone. "I want to know why she didn't commit suicide when I was not with her during the past six years. Why did she have to resort to such extreme means only after she came back? To me, this is unscrupulous conduct."

Queenie did not refute, but just said, "I am only investigating Jodie for the sake of Pearlyn and Nathan's health. That's all. So, our purpose may be different."

"Of course, our final goal may not be the same. After all, I am investigating this to prove my innocence, and you may be investigating this to prove Jodie's innocence. But no matter what, the knowledge we are seeking is the same. That’s why we are here to seek verification."

Frowning, Queenie could only agree with Heinz.

"Dr. Clarke." Heinz turned to Aaron and said, "Tell us about it."

Aaron was still lost to the world, deep in his own thoughts. No one knew what he was thinking about.

"Dr. Clarke, stop being shocked," Heinz raised his voice and said.

Aaron immediately came to his senses, as if he had startled himself.

With raised eyebrows, Heinz looked at Queenie calmly.

This was clearly a sign of guilt.

Queenie looked awkward.

"At this moment, does it seem like we have some evil plans up our sleeves?" Heinz asked teasingly.

Queenie frowned and said, "Heinz, you are the one who has evil plans."

"It's true that I have some evil plans up my sleeve," Heinz admitted generously. "I'm in a hurry to prove my innocence. I'm not like someone who still doesn't want to admit it despite doing something wrong."

With a pale face, Aaron said, "You'd better speak more politely."

"I have always been very polite," Heinz responded in a deep voice. "You should feel lucky that I didn't go directly to the hospital director's office to ask about this. If I did, I believe the director would be very willing to call the three people in charge of this to report the situation to me, one by one."

Aaron was stuck for words, as he knew what Heinz said was absolutely true.

Queenie was also looking very pale at this moment. "Heinz, there is no need for you to bother the director over such a matter."

"Dr. Clarke," Heinz did not continue to threaten him, but instead said, "is it so difficult for you to tell us what happened in Alsburg?"

Aaron frowned and looked extremely awkward.

"Before Chief Stone came, didn't you also tell me about the problems in my marriage with Jodie? You unscrupulously sided with Jodie about her unhappiness in the marriage and felt a strong injustice for her. People who know are aware that you are classmates, but those who don't know would think that you and Jodie are a couple. It looks like you are even willing to sacrifice your life for your lover."
