Once she met the dark and bright eyes of Heinz, her heart felt warm.
She felt very sorry for not being able to make him happy on their wedding night. She looked at him and said softly, "I won't let you down tonight!"
Heinz immediately shook his head and said apologetically, "I know that you are not in a good mood now. I want you to feel natural and genuinely enjoy it."
"But we can't indulge ourselves in it now. There are still so many things that await us. I just said that casually, but I do want you."
As he said that, he hugged her and held her whole body in his arms. His voice was sexier when he said, "We'll do it in two days' time, when your mother's condition is better and your mood is better. We will have a lot of time in the future, so I am not in a hurry."
Even though he yearned so much for Grace that he was constantly tormented by the thought of touching her, he still endured it.
She blushed and put her arms around his waist.
He cuddled with her for a while, then the phone rang.
She left him hurriedly and said, "Your phone is ringing."
He picked up the phone and said to Grace, "It's Lester."
Maybe it was about Nathan's funeral.
She looked at him while he was answering the phone call.
"Lester?"
"President, Mr. Lawson will be buried at three o'clock this afternoon, but no one is there to hold the urn for the burial ritual yet. Jodie is in the detention center whereas Mrs. Lawson's blood pressure is so high that she can't move and she will fall into a coma whenever she gets too agitated. She has fainted several times in the past few days."
Heinz furrowed his brow and said indifferently, "Lester, just say what you want to say. Stop giving me reasons. I'm not interested."
He was already very agitated, thus he did not want to listen to these tedious details anymore. What was more, there were many people who had no children in Northern City. Were they not going to be buried after they died?
Holding his phone, Lester said awkwardly, "It's like this, President. Mrs. Lawson said that you've put in a lot of effort for their family over the years and they've always treated you as their son. They no longer have a daughter, so they want you to bury Mr. Lawson."
Heinz frowned and asked coldly, "What did you just say?"
Lester remained silent.
Heinz had roughly guessed what was happening and he said, "Lester, you must remember that you are my secretary, not the Lawson family's secretary. I've already done my best to help them. If they force me to go there again, then they will be going too far."
Lester had to tell him the truth, "I know that, President. It's just Mrs. Lawson knelt down in front of me and begged me to make a call to ask for your opinion. There is no other way. That's why I made the call. I know that I should not be doing this."
Heinz wanted to vent his rage, but he knew that Lester must have been in a difficult situation.
He rejected it directly, "If they can't find a person who can do it, they can either ask the workers in the funeral parlor to help them or ask the people in the church to hold the funeral. I'm not going."
"Tell them that I'm sorry, but in terms of the current situation, I have to consider my family. Nobody is more important than Grace."
Lester immediately said, "Yes, I understand, President. I'll know what to do."
Heinz hung up the phone.
Lester looked at Pearlyn, who was kneeling in front of him, and said, "Mrs. Lawson, stop begging me. I've already called him for you. Your request is too difficult to be fulfilled."
Pearlyn cried. She looked at Lester, choked with sobs and said, "I also know that it may be out of line, but if there is no descendant to bury Nathan's ashes, he will not be able to rest in peace!"
Lester knew that Northern City had this custom.
