"How did you..."

Coralie recalled that Skylar was previously working on the computer. For the most part, he would not leave the study for the whole night.

Even if he did leave the study and went to the bathroom, he would not come to the second floor, let alone discovering that she left.

Yet today...

"How would I know that you're here to buy contraceptive pills?"

Skylar said and seized Coralie's hand forcefully.

Coralie replied apologetically, "I'm sorry..."

Coralie could feel Skylar's seething anger through his firm grip.

Therefore, she chose to apologize immediately, like a child who was caught red-handed.

"Why did you get the pills? Didn't I tell you? You can have one child, ten or even twenty children but I'm more than capable to raise all of them." Skylar demanded for an explanation.

When Skylar was in the car, he had a premonition that Coralie left to buy contraceptive pills.

Previously, Coralie donned an unusual expression when she served him a glass of water. There was a nagging feeling when he was working on the computer, thus he went downstairs and noticed that the TV was playing a legal show. The program happened to be talking about a couple fighting for the custody of their children.

Immediately, he guessed that Coralie must have gone out to buy contraceptive pills.

He suppressed his anger and went to the pharmacy just in time to witness Coralie taking the pills.

Coralie pleaded, "Let's go home first, okay?"

Following that, she gave the shop assistant an apologetic look. She did not want trouble the pharmacy.

Skylar replied immediately, "Okay."

Instantly, he dragged Coralie along as they headed back home. His pace was hasty and she had to trot in order to catch up with him because of the difference in height between them.

Meanwhile, Skylar kept quiet along the way.

However, he entered the door to their house and closed it behind him before immediately pressing Coralie against the door. He asked, "So, tell me. Why?"

In response, Coralie raised her head and asked solemnly, "Skylar, are you 100% confident that we will be together for the rest of our lives? Will we never part ways? We might be able to be together for a long time if you were an ordinary person, yet, you're the young master of the Holland family and your family doesn't even accept me. Can't you see what's going on after all this time?"

Even though Skylar defended her at the previous family banquet, Coralie was not stupid or willfully blind. She could see that everyone was eyeing her coldly back then.

As for Lillian, she felt utterly ashamed because her daughter-in-law was from an ordinary family.

Before she found out about the agreement, she was constantly coming up with ways to make Skylar leave Carolie.

"You're worried about my mother, aren't you? I've told you that I'll protect you." Skylar reassured Carolie.

That was the only thing that Skylar could do.

Coralie asked, "What about your father?"

She had yet to meet Skylar's father because the latter was abroad all year round and would rarely come back.

Would his father agree to their relationship?

Immediately, Skylar's face turned cold at the mention of his father and replied, "I'll talk to him too."

In fact, Skylar's father was different from Lillian. His father was a snobbish man that even looked down on the Rae family.

Back then, Skylar was often reminded by his father that he should not get married hastily. His father said that it was better to find a suitable woman who was helpful to their company and set Skylar up in an arranged marriage.

To his father, Skylar was nothing more than a bargaining chip for his business.

On the other hand, Coralie spotted the disappointment in Skylar's eyes and something dawned on her. In truth, Skylar was facing as many problems as she was.

"I was too selfish. We'll both be subjected to the same problems. In fact, you're stressed like me..." Coralie lowered her eyes and helplessness shrouded her eyes as she continued, "I'm sorry that I'm not born with a silver spoon."

Suddenly, Skylar had an idea when she apologized. He leaned over and concluded, "I'll find a way but you have to promise me that you'll give birth to my child if you're pregnant."

The truth was Skylar was coming up with a crazy idea and that was to impregnate Coralie.
