The two doctors were waiting outside. Harvey Felton shook his head when he saw the flustered Coralie Chariott, who was dressed properly, and Skylar Holland, who was lying on the bed casually. Although his gauze was dyed red, he still looked relaxed.
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder indeed."
Harvey helped Skylar up and put the hospital gown on him.
"Indeed."
Skylar fastened his own buttons and stood up as if nothing had happened. He was going to leave with Harvey.
Coralie followed after him, "I'll come along too. Since I have nothing to do now..."
It wouldn't make any difference whether she went to the factory anyway.
Harvey didn't mind her tagging along. Instead, he scolded Skylar, "I knew nothing good would come when you insisted to be discharged in advance. I had specifically told you not to do strenuous exercises for the time being. Look at you now, you have to be hospitalized for a few more days."
Skylar didn't say anything, but Coralie was so embarrassed that she wanted to find a hole and hide in it.
Although Harvey didn't say it directly, he was implying that Coralie was the Helen of Troy.
Coralie followed behind, carrying Skylar's mobile phone, tablet, and charger.
"Ding-dong."
It was a text notification, and it showed 'Anthony Holland' on the screen. The message read, "I'll give you another month for you to..."
Since it was incomplete, Coralie did not see what the rest of the message was about.
Skylar also heard his phone ringing. When he saw that Coralie did not respond, he turned back and asked, "Who was that?"
Coralie was staring at the screen in a daze. She handed the phone to him quickly when she heard him asking, "It's from your father."
Skylar took the phone and looked at the screen. His face darkened and he remained silent.
When they went into the ambulance, Harvey treated Skylar's wound and complained, "Great, all that for a moment's pleasure. You are not allowed to do strenuous exercises for the next month."
"Okay."
Skylar was lying there with his eyes closed, and he didn't speak any more.
When they arrived at the hospital, Harvey checked and bandaged Skylar's wound before sending him back to the ward.
Coralie had bought some fruits and milk and she was waiting for him in the ward.
She was dejected when she saw how difficult it was for him to move around, "If you had said earlier that your injury is this serious, I wouldn't have..."
"That's why I chose not to tell you," Skylar reached out to hold Coralie, "You wanted to ask me about the text, right?"
"Yes."
Coralie had planned to ask Skylar about it as soon as he entered the ward.
Anthony was a busy man. It was strange that he had stayed in A city for so many days.
Skylar looked at Coralie's worried face and wanted to say something. However, after some time, he only said, "My father realized that the company's accounts were a little questionable so he asked me to settle it. Otherwise, we'll get into trouble if someone finds out about it at the end of the financial year."
"Is that so?"
Coralie looked over and felt that things were not so simple, but Skylar did not seem to want to explain more.
"Yes, he didn't do anything apart from checking the accounts in my company."
Skylar nodded calmly.
"Alright then. Promise me that you would let me know if you were to encounter any problems. Although I am unable to share the burden with you, at least I could listen to you and give you some advice."
"Okay."
......
Coralie accompanied Skylar for the next two days. On the third day, Anthony decided that he would call Coralie instead of going to the factory. He found her phone number from the company's contact list.
Coralie was accompanying Skylar in the hospital when he called. As soon as she saw his phone call, she remembered that she had to give an answer to Anthony that day.
