You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie) novel Chapter 166

"What is it?"

Skylar Holland reached out to open the box.

"I know that you're not short of anything, but I bought it because it's nice. I don't know if you would like it or not, but now that I have already bought it, I suppose that it wouldn't matter anymore."

When Skylar was unwrapping the gift, Coralie was much more nervous than he was. She lowered her head and murmured.

It seemed that she was trying to convince herself instead of saying those words to Skylar.

Her sense of inferiority caused her to worry that her gift would be disliked.

Skylar looked at the pair of cufflinks. The design was simple, which suited him. Then, he turned around and held Coralie's face. He kissed her gently and said, "I like it very much. Thank you."

Coralie Chariott breathed a sigh of relief.

"Actually, I have something to tell you. However, after discussing with Xenia, I'm a little disheartened about it."

Coralie blushed from the kiss, but she decided to tell him the important thing first.

After all, it would not be appropriate to talk about it if the night were to turn a little intimate after.

"Well, go ahead then."

Skylar started the car and drove towards Golden Town.

"Actually, your father came to me and said that he wanted to transfer me to B City..."

"Reject his offer."

Before Coralie could even finish her words, Skylar had interrupted her.

"Listen to me first," Coralie explained, "Skylar, I don't want you to work alone in our relationship. Your father said that if I would be able to compete with Valerie if I could become a CFO in a few years... But I asked Xenia earlier and she said that it's impossible for anyone to become a CFO in such a short time."

After listening to Coralie's words, Skylar knew what his father's intentions were.

He drove the car with a solemn expression, "Of course he knows the time that it would take for an accountant to become a CFO. He just wants to keep us apart. After all, he has always believed that love would fade away with time."

"Would love fade away with time?"

Coralie lowered her head and held her mobile phone in her hand.

In fact, she agreed with the statement. In the years that she and Skylar were separated, they had become strangers inadvertently. Skylar had then become a figure that was engraved in Coralie's memory.

She tried to cast everything aside, thinking that it would be buried away.

"No," Skylar replied with certainty, "I thought that it would, but when I saw you at the gate of the Civil Affairs Bureau last year, I knew that I was just lying to myself."

Coralie did not speak. Skylar continued, "I have been separated from you for five years. How much longer do you want me to be apart from you?"

"I don't want to..." Coralie shook her head, "I don't want to be separated from you, but I don't know what I should do to deserve the title of Mrs. Holland..."

"You deserve it as long as I approve of you. Mrs. Holland's position will always belong to you. I'm going to a party in a few days. Come with me."

"Okay..."

Coralie always listened to Skylar.

She had initially planned to go to B City to start over again and to finally return as a successful person. However, after speaking with Skylar, she realized that she wanted to stay with him more.

......

When the car arrived at the gate of the house,

Coralie stood in front of the door and looked at the fingerprint door lock. After thinking for a while, she said, "My fingerprints have been erased."

"Erased?"

Skylar was stunned. He had seen Coralie using the access card before and thought that she was not used to the fingerprint door lock.
