They got to the back of the company, and James yanked Amelia forward carelessly, making her almost fall to the ground on her face.

“What were you thinking? What the f**k is wrong with you? What kind of stupid makeover is that?!”

Amelia jumped at the sound of his vexed voice. She gulped hard and her eyes heated up in no time.

“I… I’m sorry, I…”

“Don’t you dare cry! It doesn’t have any effect on me! Didn’t you check yourself in the mirror?!” He yelled.

“I did, but my friend told me it was nice! I am not a fashionista but she is, so I believed her. I’m sorry, Mr. James. I had to wash my face when I heard the reporters’ comments while I was passing by. I’m very sorry for this embarrassment. I’ll bear the consequences for this.”

“Of course, you will. You’re fired! You can’t keep doing this to my company. You aren’t worth stepping foot into my company.”

James turned to leave, and Amelia fell to her knees and hugged his legs tightly so that he wouldn’t move.

Amelia cried hard and loud. She was so scared. How was she going to tell her uncle she failed him the second time? She was pretty sure he was yet to sign her uncle’s contract because of her.

“Please. I won’t leave you alone, Mr. James. Give me one more chance. I swear, If I do anything wrong again, I’ll leave before you fire me. Please…”

She raised her head to look at his face. He had a fierce look, but she still wasn’t ready to let him go. Not until he accepts her again.

“What is going on here?” They both looked up to see Charles approaching them. He seemed confused.

“Thank God, you are here. Can you please tell your friend’s daughter to let me go? She is ruining my Dormeuil Vanquish pants!”

Amelia shook her head in tears and hugged his legs even tighter, burning her legs in them.

The scent of his cologne, at that moment, gave her more comfort than anything else in the world.

“Amelia, can you please let him go? You are truly ruining his trousers.”

“No, Mr. Charles. If I let him go, he is going to fire me.”

“Fire you? You want to fire her? Why would you do that?” Charles asked in disbelief.

“She isn’t supposed to be in the company in the first place. I shouldn’t have listened to you at all. You told me she is very good and will help the company, right? Look at the news! She has disgraced the company for the second time!”

“Okay, everyone calm down. Amelia, let go of his legs, and you James, you are not firing her. Not after that the video I watched a few minutes ago.”

Amelia slowly let go of his legs but didn’t stand up. She was still on her knees, and James moved away from her.

He wanted to walk away, but Charles stood in front of him, making him stop.

“James, are you thinking at all?” He grabbed his hand and pulled him aside.

“Dad, don’t try to talk me out of this. Can’t you see how she acts? She is stupid, she doesn’t know anything about fashion. Will you let someone like her work in your company?”

“Yes, I will. Stop saying such horrible things about her, okay? She isn’t exposed, and that is the best kind of person you need. She isn’t like the other women that had worked with you. You have slept with almost all of them, even in the office.”
