A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 39

Amelia finally finished dressing up. She had been stuck, trying to look for the perfect outfit for her outing.

She didn’t only want to look fine for herself, but also for James. She wanted to see him stare at her like he wanted to have her.

So she settled with a loose black blouse and fitted jeans. She finished her look up with some feminine accessories and very slight makeup of just powder and red lipstick.

She wore a black knee high boot and carried black leather bag to match. She brushed her hair quickly and decided to pack it in a scraper ponytail.

She stared at herself in the mirror and fell in love with her new look. She pulled out her phone and took a few selfies at the window.

She took a peek at the time on her phone and saw it was a few minutes to 3 pm.

“He will be here soon.”

She headed out of the room and locked the door behind her. She walked down the staircase and kept an eye out for James’ door.

She found it still closed the same way she had left it. She heaved a sigh and headed to the living room, so she could wait for Fred there.

Getting to the living room, she looked up and saw James sitting on the couch. He was on his phone, and he didn’t see her standing in front of him.

“Mr. James,” She called. She held her hands in front of her, her fingers intertwined, and her eyes fixed on James.

James raised his head after hearing Amelia’s voice. His eyes fell on her, and he looked away almost immediately.

Amelia knotted her eyebrows after seeing how he reacted. She expected him to say something nice with his eyes, but all she saw his eyes say was “I don’t care.”

She exhaled softly and also sat on the couch. She stared at him and noticed he was dressed up too.

‘Where is he going?’ She reminisced, checking out his outfit. It was the same outfit he had always worn. Dashing suits and shoes. Then she noticed he had styled his hair in a different way too.

“Is there a business meeting I don’t know about? Where is he going, looking so hot?” She wondered.

James’ phone began to ring and when he saw Ava calling, he clutched his jaw. He could feel Amelia staring at him, but he made sure he didn’t look at her.

He answered the call and stood up from the couch.

“Hey…”

“James, where are you? Ten minutes ago, you said you'd be here soon. Why aren’t you here yet?” Ava asked out of frustration.

“I’m on my way. Order something to eat.”

Amelia’s ears caught all James said, and her eyes widened.

‘Is he having dinner with someone? Another slut of his, hun?’

She rolled her eyes and looked away from him. She rested her back on the couch’s backrest and folded her arms.

James walked out of the house and headed to his car. He sat in his Bugatti Veyron and watched as a car drove into his compound.

“Who the hell are you?” He muttered, staring at the car. He raised his eyebrows when he caught a closer look and saw it was a Lamborghini Veneno.

“Don’t tell me you are here to pick her,” He groaned in rage, hitting the steering wheel.

Almost immediately, Amelia heard the honk of a car in the compound. Her face brightened as she guessed it was Fred that arrived.

She stood up and hurried out of the mansion. She climbed down the stairs in front of the door and waited in front of them.

Fred parked the car in front of Amelia and stepped out. He was dressed in a white long-sleeve T-shirt and grey trousers.

He tucked the shirt in his pants and didn’t bother to use a belt since they were fitted and sat on his waist perfectly.

In his hand was a hand-tied bouquet of roses. Amelia grinned widely as he approached her.

“You look so beautiful, Amelia,” He complimented as soon as he got closer to her.

“Thank you so much. You look amazing too.”

He gave a slight bow and stretched the bouquet to her. “I got this for you. I hope you like it.”

Amelia collected the bouquet from him and moved it to her nose. She sniffed it and slowly divulged a hearty smile.

“I love it, Fred. Thank you.”

She happily moved closer to him and hugged him. Fred smiled widely and hugged her back.

She disengaged from him and lowered her head shyly. She was carried away by the happiness of receiving a bouquet from a man so much that she didn’t think before acting.

“Shall we?” Fred asked, and she bounced her head.

He walked to the car and opened the front door for her. She sat in the car, and Fred hurried to the other side too.

James’ eyes widened as he watched all that was going on with Amelia and Fred.

He was shocked the most when he saw her hug him. ‘If the man had initiated the hug, it would be better. But she did it! Has she forgotten that she is in my house?!’

James waited for Fred’s car to drive out before he also proceeded out of the compound.

He put a call across to his mother and put his phone on speaker. Helen picked up almost immediately.

“James, My son.”

“I want a divorce, mother.”

“What?! James, what are you talking about? You haven’t been married for more than two weeks!”

“I don’t care! She got herself a man already. She should go and be with him. I won’t let her stay in my house and do this rubbish.”

“Hey… slow down, okay? I’m lost. What are you talking about?”
