A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 7

After Freddie left Amelia’s room, she stood up and began to pace in the middle of her room.

“Can I work in his office? I don’t think so. He hates me, and he is scary.

This isn’t a good idea. I don’t think I can work well in his company. What if I ruin something, and I have to apologize again! Oh God, this isn’t good. Why is my life like this!” Amelia sat on her bed again and lowered her head in sadness and thoughts.

The sudden sound she heard at her door jolted her out of her mind, and she saw Hudson walk in.

He stood at her door and stared at her with a straight face. “My room is still dirty,” He said, and Amelia sprang to her feet.

“I was preparing to come. I. Am. Coming,” She stammered, and Hudson moved closer to her. She gulped hard and stared at him as he approached her.

“You were preparing to come and you were sitting?” He asked, and she slowly bounced her head. She bowed and played with her fingers nervously.

“Why are you still waiting? You don’t know the way to my room, or you want me to drag you there?” He asked, and she shook her head.

“I’m… I’m going,” she stammered and hurriedly ran past him.

She headed out of her room and proceeded to Hudson’s room. Hudson also stepped out of her room and followed behind her.

As Amelia walked, she could feel his eyes boring into her back. She swallowed uncomfortably, and when she got to his room, she stopped.

“Are you going to clean the room with your teeth?” Hudson asked, and Amelia looked at him.

Then she remembered she was yet to pick any cleaning material from the store. “I’ll get the brush and mop,” She responded and quickly turned to leave.

She ran to the store which was on the ground floor. As soon as she got to the stairs, she reduced her pace because of her injured leg.

As she got to the ground floor, she heard the main door fling open, and she flinched in fear.

She saw Ava storm into the house. She looked so angry and as she moved closer, Amelia could see tears in her eyes.

Amelia was too stunned to move because it was the first time she was going to see Ava crying.

She felt great pity for her and began to approach her. “Ava, are you okay? Are you hurt?” Amelia asked with worry.

Ava looked at her with anger and irritation written all over her eyes.

“How dare you talk to me?!” She pointed to Amelia, and Amelia moved back immediately.

“I’m sorry, I was worried and…” Amelia couldn’t finish her statement before Ava threw a slap on her face.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay away from James? Why were you at his office today?!” She yelled, and Amelia held her chin and began to weep.

“It was uncle. He asked me to apologize for what happened yesterday. I went there to apologize, nothing more. I swear,” She cried, but Ava didn’t stop approaching her.

Ava’s makeup was ruined by her tears and this made her look very scary.

“Now, you are done apologizing, right? The next time I see you in this office, Amelia!”

She looked at Amelia’s injured leg, and Amelia’s heart began to thump violently against her chest.

“But… but, Uncle Freddie told me that I have to start working there,” Amelia muttered, and Ava’s eyes widened.

“What?!” She roared, and Amelia began to pant seriously.

“I don’t want to, but that is what Uncle wants and I can’t say no to him,” Amelia added.

Ava started heading to her in rage again. But before she could get closer, Hudson stood in between them.

“Not now, Ava,” He said.

“Get out of my way, Hudson! Let me break her leg!” Ava roared, trying to get Amelia from behind Hudson.

“Calm down, Ava. Not yet, okay? Let her clean my room first,” He said, and Ava moved back.

“F**k both of you!” She yelled and stormed out of the living room.

Hudson turned and looked at Amelia. “Thank you,” Amelia mumbled in tears, and he scoffed. “Don’t thank me. I didn’t save you. After you clean my room. I’ll personally lead you to her room,” He said and walked out of the living room.

Amelia huffed her hot breath and turned to leave too.
