A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO novel Chapter 82

“James?!” She called out, catching everyone unaware.

The cops rushed out of their hiding places, and before Fred could realize what was going on, he was surrounded with cops who pointed their guns at him.

“Your hands in the air!” They announced, and he raised his hands.

James also proceeded out of his hiding spot and ran towards Amelia, who was also running to him happily with Alice in her arms.

“Alice!” He called happily and opened his arms wide. Amelia ran into his arms, even though she was quite conscious about Alice that she carried in her arms.

The first thing James did was carry Alice from her arms first and then embraced Amelia with his side. Alice took one side, Amelia took the other.

“I have missed you so much, James.” Amelia mumbled and tears began to stream down her eyes. James shut his heated-up eyes pretty tight, and let his tears stream down freely.

“I missed you so much too, Amelia. I thought I lost you.” He mumbled too.

He opened his eyes after a few minutes and looked at Fred.

The anger that first erupted in him when he first saw that he was the one behind the abduction was killed when he laid his eyes on Amelia.

But when he looked at him again, he felt he needed to throw a few punches at his face before leaving him to the cops.

“How have you been?” Amelia raised her head from his chest and looked at his face. Her nose caught another smell from his chest which wasn’t his body spray.

She furrowed her eyebrows and slowly figured out it was wine.

“James, have you been drinking?” She asked without hesitation, and that was when James looked down at her.

“Hey…” He uttered with a smile. “Can you hold Alice for a minute? I need to do something.” He said with a smile.

Amelia narrowed her eyes but didn’t ask questions. She nodded and took Alice from him carefully.

After Alice was off of him, he stormed to where Fred was. He was handcuffed and held by two officers.

The cops were about to throw him into the car when James grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and threw a very hard punch on his face.

Blood burst out of Fred’s lips and he lost the whole balance of his body. Thanks to the cops that held him, he didn’t fall to the ground.

James was ready to throw another punch but was stopped by one of the cops.

“That’s enough, Mr. Parker. We understand you’re so vexed at this point, but please let us take it up from here.” He uttered.

James clenched his jaw and slowly let go of his fist which he had tightened already.

“Who the hell put you up to this? Who gave you all that information? Tell me!” James smacked.

“Mr. Parker, we’ll take it from here, okay? Take your family home.” The cop insisted.

Fred raised his head and looked at James with a smirk on his face, which got James even more vexed than he was.

He moved his gaze from James and his eyes fell on Amelia. The smirk on his face slowly faded as their eyes locked.

“So it was all a life, wasn’t it?” He asked her, and she hurriedly looked away.

“Get in!” The cop pushed him into the car and shut the door against him.

James looked at Susan and then at the officers. “Who is she? Why isn’t she in handcuffs too?” He asked coldly.

Amelia shook her head and ran up to him. “No, she isn’t a bad person. I brought her home from the mall myself.”

“Why? Who is she?” James asked.

“My surrogate mom. I’ll explain better when we all are out of here.”

James knitted his brows in confusion and looked at this woman again.

“Isn’t she supposed to be…”

“Dead, right? Well, I thought the same thing until I found her in the shopping mall, and trust me, James, She is Clara.”

After Amelia stopped talking, he looked at Susan again but with a straight face. It was all so confusing that he didn’t know how to react to what he had heard.

“Let’s head to the car. Everyone is waiting for us down there.”

“Everyone? You didn’t come here alone with the cops? How did you find out where we were?” She asked as they began to walk down the street to where the car was parked.

“Elena brought us here with a tracking map she claims is from a private investigator.”

“Elena is here too?!” Amelia asked in excitement.

James scoffed and shook his head. “Why are you so excited? Don’t you suspect she is the one behind this?”

“No, I don’t, James. It doesn’t seem like she is the one. I don’t know who Fred has been talking to, but I don’t think it is Elena.”

“We can’t be so sure of anything, and we can’t trust anybody too. Not after what happened at the party. I never suspected that he would do something like that even though I knew how crazy he seemed. Why would he ever think of abducting you and our baby?”

“Because he envied the family we had, James. He wished he was in your shoes. He had always wanted me for himself.” Amelia explained, and James exhaled angrily.
