The door opened to a very beautiful dining room, a long mahogany dining table with chairs and a chandelier hung from the ceiling. Fruits and bottles of drinks were arranged on the dining table. They walked towards the dining table as she looked around the room.
He let go of her hand as they reached the table and pulled out the chair beside the head for her to sit. She sat down, saying, "Thanks."
He nodded and pulled out his own chair at the head. He sat down and placed his arms on the table as she laced hers on her lap under the table. Fay looked up at him to see him staring at her. She felt herself blush at his penetrating stare and averted her gaze.
"So why aren't you the leader of The Five?"
"Pardon?" He asked her with one raised eyebrow that made him look hotter.
"You are clearly the strongest out of The Five. Since your parents are both Lycans."
"Yes, I am, but I don't want to leave High Valley. Alpha Mason also seems to be very capable to lead us and he is the oldest."
"So can't you still live here if you become the leader?" She asked as she noticed how well defined his jaw was as he was talking.
"No, I would have to relocate to where Alpha Mason lives now, in the middle of our lands, Aldridge, to maintain peace and order."
"But as the leader, you could still pull some strings. Maybe have your Beta stay there on the lookout."
"It is not only because of that. As I've said, Alpha Mason seems to be the right Lycan to lead us. He is the oldest, he has a mate when I didn't have one until tonight, and he is the most organized out of all of us."
"Alright, I understand. But I think you are meant to lead them because of everything I've heard about you and The Five growing up."
He looked at her in amusement and curiosity as his lips tugged up a bit, "Is that so? What else have you heard about me?"
"That you are very stern and strict that you hardly smile. I also heard that you are the fiercest in battles and that has made many afraid of going against you."
"But I smile with you, don't I? And the latter is true I suppose." He said and let out a chuckle.
"You do smile with me, but isn't that because I am your mate?"
He smiled broader at her as he took her right hand and brought it to his lips. He pressed his lips on the inside of her palm as he looked into her eyes. "Yes, Indeed, my one. I smile and laugh for you as I want you to smile and laugh for me."
