‘’First of all, none of this was my idea. I only obeyed the Alpha’s instructions.’’ he revealed and I furrowed my brows at him, disappointed that he was attempting to lie.

‘’Tell me something else and I might believe you. Stop lying to make me feel like he’s a good guy when he’s not. I am his greatest enemy, remember? Why would he care?!’’ I threw those questions in the air for him to answer.

He facepalmed himself and sighed, ‘’What reason would I have to actually lie to you? He told me that you rejected his medicine and due to worry, he ordered me to call the doctor.’’

I still didn’t buy the lie because such a kind gesture from Alpha Parker would never happen, even in my dreams but I did not want to argue further with him.

‘’Thank you regardless. As far as I am concerned, you are the only person in this pack who has shown a little bit of kindness towards me. Help me escape from here.’’ I pleaded with him.

He retreated away from me and rubbed his arm, ‘’I am sorry but I cannot do that.’’

My face went pale and my heart sank over the realization that my last hope just failed me, ‘’Why? I am a damsel in distress.’’

‘’Unfortunately, I am not your knight in shining armor. Parker is the one.’’ he responded.

I scoffed, ‘’This isn’t about him. It is about me having peace of mind and such is never going to happen as long as I am here, he is going to kill me sooner or later.’’

A frown displayed on his face, ‘’Don’t say that. You are his mate, if he kills you. He would serve a punishment from the goddess and the pain from the mate bond would haunt him forever. I urge you to stay positive.’’

As soon as I heard that, I gave him a raised brow before bursting into laughter, ‘’Did you just say positive? Please, tell me how that will be possible? When I went through trauma caused by my father and tried several times to explain to my mate that I was a victim of my father’s cruelty but he chose to block his ears from the truth! He is misleading his peeople into detesting me, it is just my first day in this pack and they attempted murder on me. I am honestly scared of what the rest days would look like and from what I see, it will not be pretty due to the fact that there is another woman in his life that he prioritize over me.’’

By the time that I was done speaking, tears were already rolling down my cheekbones.
