~PARKER~
After the discussion with my Beta over the mate that I despised, I chose to check up on her because I needed her to stay alive.
As I came out of my office, I met the pack doctor and he greeted me with a smile, ‘’Good evening, alpha.’’
‘’Evening, Doc. How’s your patient?’’ I inquired from him, not wanting to say her name.
‘’She’s doing great. Just a little bit of rest, food and steady medication. She would be good to go, that girl is very strong.’’ he replied to my question.
The last information was very important to me as I realized that I didn’t have to show mercy on her at all since she had an ability to bounce back quickly.
We parted ways and I headed towards the room that I had kept her in. I silently said that this time around, she would not utter such rubbish to me because I would not be able to tolerate it.
Controlling my anger around that girl was something else. She makes me do things that I don’t do on a regular basis. It was a sign that she was not good for me at all.
As I got closer, I could perceive her sweet vanilla scent and I didn’t like the fact that it was pleasant to my wolf. I found the door half open and I was intrigued, I quietly pushed it open and halted when I saw Landon hugging her.
What in the goddess name was going on here?!
All the anger in me washed away when I saw a smirk on her face because I was certain that my better would never do such to me. Even though I had told him that I didn’t want to be with her. Landon was one of my trusted men in this pack and if a soothsayer was to tell me that he would betray me, I would laugh in their face.
I watched as he dropped her on the bed, I still refused to speak. I wanted him to acknowledge my presence first, if he reacted in a form of shock. I would know that something has been going on behind my back.
Although, he had supported her. I was sure that he didn’t want her to himself, if not he wouldn’t have put so much effort. Instead, he would have instigated more hatred into my heart and made me see more reasons why she should remain treated, the same way that her father had done to her.
She didn’t even signal him that I was in the room. The only thing in my head was a huge debate whether or not she had thrown herself on him or something was really wrong with her.
Landon turned to finally face him, he didn’t even flinch at all. That was enough to tell me he wasn’t guilty. He proved me right again and it gave me joy that he was my second in command.
