Aztec's Luna novel Chapter 2

Chapter 2

On the human side of the world five hundred years later.

The life of a werewolf is between 1700-2100 years. Aztec continues the life of werewolf and was waiting for his Luna to be born for his curse to be lifted.

Alexa Sullivan is the only daughter of Jack and Andrea Sullivan. Alexa was hardly four years old when her mother passed away while giving birth to her younger brother. Within ten days her brother also died as he had no one to care about him.

Alexa's father was left hopeless and destroyed. He became addicted to alcohol and began to ignore Little Alexa. But Alexa was more matured than her age. She knew her father was healing his wounded heart but little did Alexa know her days are going to be more torturous than she experiences today.

Two years later on one fine day Alexa's father Jack Sullivan came home in a black tuxedo with a woman's hand tucked under his arm. Alexa observed her cheerful father and the woman who stood smiling beside him. She was wearing a white gown and a veil. Her dad married and there is now another person in her little family.

It pained Alexa that her father could forget her mom so early but when she noticed after a very long time her father's cheerfulness  a smile etched on her rims. Though it was hurtful to see another woman in her mother's place she decided to accept the destiny.  "Mama welcome to your new home." She greeted and ran to her mother with open arms.

Slowly her father became lively again and Alexa had no words to describe her happiness. Two years later all of them welcomed a new member into their family, Alexa's step brother and then came another after two years more but this time it was a sister. Alexa was very happy when she had a little sister. She thought she could share all her happiness and thoughts with her but seldom would she know her life was slowly turning to a nightmare.

With the children popping out one after another Alexa's mother became very busy and thus Alexa's responsibilities increased too. In the evening soon after she came home from her school Alexa helped her mother. With the children growing up Catherine relaxed enjoying her life but Alexa's problems doubled. She became a full time maid without a salary in the house.

Few years later Alexa had more to face.....  The difficulties from all sides enveloped her like a cage. Alexa's father suffered a heart attack when his business went to losses. He got attached to bed and as if on a curse her step mother's tyranny increased tenfold in innocent Alexa's life. "Alexa?" Her mother called in a warning. A shiver ran down her spine with the cold tone of her mother. "Why are you late from school? Don't you know we invited my sister and her husband to our house for dinner?"

"Mom, I had a special class today. I told you about it yesterday." Alexa told her mother in a weak voice already frightened about the outcome. But before she could realize her slip there was a sting on her cheek. "You dare not answer me back." Her step-mother screeched in her ears. Alexa controlled her tears forcedly because she did not want her bedridden father to know about her sufferings.

A soft quaver went out of her throat but she arrested it quickly before it landed to a sob. She briskly went to her bedroom which only had a cot and a small cupboard to keep her clothes and books. Applying an ointment on her stinging cheek, Alexa changed to fresh clothes which were nothing but old pieces of rags and speedily ran to the kitchen for preparing dinner.

"Mom, where are you?" Her step-sister Miranda came inside the kitchen searching for her mother. Eyeing Alexa top to bottom in a disgusting look she shook her head and asked Alexa thuggish. "Did you see my mother?" Alexa had no guts to open her mouth before her sister. When she nodded her head negatively, Miranda turned back to the exit but halted on her steps and looked back at Alexa.
