Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 309

Hayes felt a swirl of emotions, then he heard a soft, sweet voice, "Do you want to join us in the Vine Whip Alliance? Our club is the best in the whole preschool, and we don't just let anyone in!

"You've got five seconds to think about it. Five, four, three, two, one... Okay! Your silence means you agree! Come on!"

Teresa's voice was clear and swift, giving Hayes no chance to respond. She happily grabbed his hand and led him away.

Hayes, with his wide-eyed innocence, was completely bewildered, not knowing what had just happened. He was simply led away by Teresa.

What's Vine Whip Alliance?

Hayes didn't know, but the fact that a kid wanted to play with him made him really happy.

Manley, however, lumbered forward at that moment. He waddled forward, stretching out his arms to block their way, "You can't play with him! He's mute, he can't talk!" Manley shouted.

Upon hearing Manley's words, Hayes felt heavyhearted and hung his head low.

Each time a kid approached him, Manley would call him mute, and the kids would subsequently keep their distance from him. He didn't need to guess to know that this time would be the same.

Hayes didn't want to be disliked. Sensing the inevitable, he withdrew his hand and walked away, his eyes downcast.

With his plan succeeding, Manley's chubby face was full of smugness. He turned to Teresa and volunteered eagerly, "Befriend with me! I'll treat you all to pizza! And I'm really good at fighting!"

As he spoke, he began to swing his fists around, looking utterly ridiculous.

Teresa glanced at him, then turned to see that Hayes had already reached the last step of staircase. She hurried after him, wobbling as she ran.
