Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 724

Jocelyn was over the moon and hurried to support Hackett.

“Come on, Cole, snap out of it. You're not hallucinating. Penelope's back! She's been incredibly lucky; someone must have saved her!”

Hackett shakily made his way to Penelope, longing for a heartfelt embrace. But Penelope didn’t even glance his way, sidestepping Hackett’s attempt to hug her and walked straight to Marguerite.

“Marguerite, you’ve been through so much. Yesterday, I went to the police station to file a report, and if it weren’t for Ms. Abbey, I wouldn’t have known all you’ve done for me. Now, it’s my turn to protect you!”

Marguerite was still in shock, letting tears roll down her cheeks.

“Penelope, is it really you? Am I dreaming? Can you pinch me to make sure?”

Penelope couldn't help but laugh at Marguerite’s words, “How could I ever do that to you? Silly.”

“What in the world happened? We’ve been searching the cliffs, but couldn’t find you anywhere!”

“If you had found me, would I be standing here all in one piece today?”

Penelope then turned to Yuna.

“It was Yuna who pushed me off the cliff. I was unconscious, but not out of my senses. After falling, Violet, who was passing by, rescued me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have recovered in just a couple of weeks.”

Violet stepped forward to explain.

“Marguerite, I’m sorry, I lied to you. My major was actually psychology, and I had to deceive you to help President Penelope. But Marguerite, everything else I told you was the truth. My parents do supply silk fabrics; they just never went bankrupt. The silk scarf that President Penelope was wearing before, that was from our family's production.”
