Chapter 44-CMA
Ashira’s POV
“That’s heartless.” I commented.
Nick and Seth was talking about what had happened and I was petrified by what Elon did to his wolves. He freaking killed his own family! And for what?! I haven’t met the guy but I can tell that he’s out of sanity!
The two were discussing that what happened seemed like a scheme but they can’t point any possible reason for Elon to commence it.
But for me, even if that was a play or those wolves did in-surge against their Aplha, Elon had no right to take a life easily like that!
“He was keeping something. I bet he planned that attack and wanted to came clean.” Nick concludes.
I scoffed. “He shouldn’t be an Alpha. He’s staining a very respectful title and an important position with his way of leading.”
Seth nodded to agree with my statement and Nick just sighed in frustration.
“And the renewal of treaty with them?” Nick shook his head, he’s clearly disapprove of what has to come. “after all this, I’m sure the highest council would be glad to throw him off his title.”
“Kill him even.” Seth seconded.
Nick was talking about the highest council of the Wolves. It consists of The Judge, The Punisher, The Enforcer and the King Alpha himself.
The highest council’s prior task was to maintain the peace between the packs of the four region of the continent. East, West, South and North--where our pack resides. Other than that, they are in-charge with crimes and unruly behaviour of Alpha leaders and some ‘rare cases’ which I’m unaware of.
“We should report this to the highest council.” I said. I’m not sure how that works but I’m sure they could do something about this. Since Prime and Ravenous is under the oath of peace, I knew that Aiden can’t take any action to sort this event though he’s itching to make a move.
“We could if we can find them.” Nick said chuckling.
Oh, yeah. I forgot.
“No one knew where The Castle is. They are always the one who finds us, not the other way around.” Seth explained. I nodded and sighed.
I forgot that the high council have the ability to know the trouble, problems and the sort. They are the ones who pick a situation at large. But that’s unfair. Should we wait for more innocent lives to be fallen just so they could punish an alpha like Elon?
“Plus, there’s no witnesses. Elon killed them. I doubt his disciple will betray him but the lady head guard clearly showed disapproval of her Alpha’s behavior.” Nick added.
“Was she hot?” Seth asked Nick as he wiggles his brows.
“She ain’t my mate, so nope.”
I sighed. How can this two speak of-urgh. Guys.
I cleared my throat and they both looked at me. Seth’s even half-smirking.
“A girl? You think she could stand as witness?”
“Nah. She must’ve gained her position by being loyal to her Alpha. I doubt she’ll even break it.” Seth butted in.
“A lady head guard. Alpha Elon sure trust that woman.”
Okay, that makes sense. She-Wolves in a council position are rare. I couldn’t disagree with what they said. That girl must’ve gained her way up by earning enough trust from Elon.
Damn. I feel bad about all this. This saddens me to the point that it affects my thoughts.
I smell the scent of Aiden and he must’ve gone out of the room by how strong the scent was. Secretly, I inhaled the sweet, tangling scent and filled my lungs with it, trying to distract myself from the conversation.
His scent works like magic instantly.
Seth raised a brow at me but ignored me after. He continued talking to Nick about the same topic and I refrain from filling my lungs with my mate’s scent.
“What’s for dinner?” Aiden’s baritone deep voice filled my ears as soon as he speak. I looked over my shoulder to see him walking closer to the table where we’re seated while shaking his wet hair.
Oh, hi there, gorgeous.
I chuckled inwardly from my thought. My mate screams appeal and sultry all over him!
Aiden raised a brow as he looked at me before smirking. He walked towards my direction, snaking his hand on my waist as soon as he came close. I wanted to inhale more of him but my lungs already reached its limit.
“Gorgeous, huh?” he chuckled as he whispered those words. My eyes widened from abrupt shock! He heard me?!
My mouth dropped open and I tried hard to ignore Seth who took a glimpse at our side. Nick was still busy talking but I know Seth was half listening to what he was saying.
Aiden looked at me with amused but confused eyes. More amusement, though. He watched my face intently like a movie was being played.
“I-” my words were cut when he leaned closer and planted a deep kiss on my forehead. I saw how knotted his forehead were, confused about something.
“Are you okay?” he whispered after. My forehead creased from his question but he spoke before I could. “You’re thoughts were slipping…” he looked unsure of his own words. On his last word, particularly.
My forehead knotted even more.
