Chapter 10 No Apology No Food

Louis walked over and saw pale yellow petals floating on the water in the porcelain cup. Although it looked nice, he sneered, "You don't seem hungry."

Unwilling to admit defeat, Blanche stubbornly said, "I don't have the habit of having breakfast. And I like to drink tea in the morning."

While speaking, she slightly raised her chin. When Louis met her clear eyes, he thought they were as clean as water. So, he was stunned, wondering why a cruel and vicious woman had such clear eyes.

Soon, he returned to his senses and put on a cold face. But recalling how she had held the tea and slowly said it was delicious, he was amused. He could not hold back his laughter for long, so he quickly walked to the closet.

Blanche gave him a sideways glance, thinking his expression was strange. She rolled her eyes, picked up a book, and opened it.

After changing the tie, Louis walked to the door. Then, he paused and said, "You will not get any food until you apologize. Don't let me hear you say bad language again. Otherwise, I will make you regret it."

She would not get any food until she apologized.

Blanche squeezed the book in her hand, cursing him in her heart. She would never apologize!

He waited for a while, but she still did not admit her mistake. So, he slammed the door shut in anger. Outside the door, he looked at servants and ordered, "Guard the door! Don't give her food without my permission."

Blanche gritted her teeth with hatred, thinking he was a lunatic! How could he forbid her from eating? It was abuse.

She put down the book and went to open the door. Sure enough, it was locked. She touched her empty stomach and wondered why she had always been starved these days. She had only had a meal yesterday. And today, she had nothing to eat again.

Enduring the hunger, she picked up her phone and called Angela.

"Miss Kent, Angela is asleep. Do you want me to wake her up?"

It was Gloria who had answered the call. Blanche had hired her to nurse Angela.

"Let her sleep. Gloria, how is my grandma doing?"

Angela was awakened by the call, so she said, "Is Blanche calling me? Let me talk to her."

After Gloria gave her the phone, she earnestly said, "Blanche, I'm fine. You just got married. The Herbart family is noble, so they must have many rules. Have they wronged you?"

Thinking of the scar on Blanche's face, Angela felt heartbroken and believed it was hard for her to gain a foothold in the Herbart family.

Blanche was touched to hear her words. Sure enough, Angela always cared about her the most.
