Captive Hearts: The Tycoon's Ugly Bride novel Chapter 76

Chapter 76 I'm Very Generous

Louis's profound gaze was like a whirlpool, paired with his magnetic voice, utterly captivating.

Blanche took a glance at his crossed long legs, wrapped in the exclusive black trousers, exuding an aura of restraint. Coupled with the glossy Italian leather shoes on his feet, Blanche almost bit her tongue.

Following Louis's gaze, Blanche found it landed precisely on her own fair legs, creating a stark contrast, black and white, full of tension and lethal allure.

Tapping his foot lightly, Louis spoke again in his magnetic voice, "What are you holding in your hand? Something to eat?"

"You mean this?" Blanche raised the small bag in her hand, revealing a cluster of dark blue objects.

"They're wild blueberries."

"Wild blueberries, picked by yourself?"

"Mm-hmm, wild blueberries. They're small but juicy and, exposed to abundant sunlight, even sweeter."

Louis glanced at the hotel entrance and spotted Brendon, dressed in fresh clothes, often looking their way. He clearly understood that Brendon was watching Blanche.

Louis squinted slightly, a hint of sarcasm pulling at his lips. Waiting so eagerly for Blanche? It was impossible for Blanche to pick the blueberries by herself. Clearly, she'd been out-picking with that scumbag, Brendon.

"Sweeter? Let me try."

"You taste."

Louis took the bag from her, looked at its contents, and rose from his seat. Just as Blanche thought he would arrogantly take all the blueberries, something even more unthinkable happened.

Louis walked over to a trash bin, coldly tossed the bag, and all the blueberries rolled into the trash.

"Blanche, so you really think I'm dead," Louis said coldly, then turned to leave.

"What are you doing? Stand still. If you don't want to eat them, why throw them away? They're the fruits of my labor. You're going too far." Blanche chased after him, so angry that she could almost feel her eyebrows twitching.

The fruits of her night's labor were all dumped by Louis. She was livid.

What was he thinking? When did she ever treat him as if he were dead? But now, she really wanted him to disappear from the world. Louis made her so angry.

"Compensate me for the blueberries."

She took two steps forward, intending to demand an explanation, but Louis abruptly halted and turned around.

He had excellent hearing and had heard the rapid footsteps, a sound that Blanche's light casual shoes couldn't make.

His eyes, cold as ice, looked towards a banana tree where the leaves fluttered slightly, a black shadow cast on the ground.

Blanche thought Louis was warning her, and she was intimidated, swallowing the words she had wanted to say.

She was extremely frustrated and didn't want to look at Louis again, so she turned and ran back to the hotel.

Louis frowned and turned back towards the hotel.
