Chapter 40 The Money You Gave Me Allowed My Pride
Jonathan didn't care about Tina's life or death, and left with the doctor and the reluctant Caitlyn, throwing away the mess to Tina.
The room was empty. Tina stood beside Samuel's bed. Seeing the man's cold profile clearly, she immediately felt a little scared. She shouldn't have teased him just now.
"Isn't it quite easy to talk?" Samuel slightly opened his eyes, turned his back to Tina, and said in a mocking tone, "Why are you dumb now?"
Tina swallowed a mouthful of saliva, moved her steps to the side, "I was just too loud just now. I'm nervous, and that's why I offend you. There's no other meaning."
Samuel snorted disdainfully, and spoke weakly, "I thought that with Walter, you were about to turn against the sky."
Tina clenched her hands, put aside. With a calm face and a calm tone, "Mr. Johnson and I are just friends. There is no such thing as saying that he is mine."
Samuel didn't respond, and suddenly fell silent.
Tina glanced at him. Probably because he was tired, and he wouldn't have the strength to fight her anymore.
She breathed a sigh of relief, looked around the room, walked to the wardrobe, and took two quilts, one for herself to sleep on the sofa, and the other for him.
The person on the bed turned sideways. His body restrained slightly because of the discomfort, half of his face covered by the drooping hair, his usual indifference and gloom reduced by half, and he looked a little pitiful.
Tina lowered her guard halfway, and stepped forward with the quilt in her arms, gently trying to cover him.
She was hesitating whether to remind Samuel that the little white rabbit beside him was not a little white rabbit. At least Caitlyn was also a little black rabbit.
The quilt was pulled away, and it was gently placed on the man's waist, and her hand just brushed the back of his hand.
Suddenly! She didn't notice that the man opened his eyes, and when she raised his head slightly, she met the pair of dark eyes behind the hair.
"Mr. Langford?"
As soon as she finished speaking, he grabbed her wrist, and then she was dragged onto the bed.
Tina really didn't expect that he still had the strength to struggle.
Even so, she didn't have the guts to fight against him. If something happened, she would not be able to pay even ten lives.
The man leaned forward, wrapped her up in the quilt by the way, and put his head on her neck, panting slightly.
Tina didn't understand what he wanted to do, so she didn't dare to move.
"Do you know that Walter has committed crimes?" The man's soft voice hit her ears, making her ears itch.
She turned her face sideways, a little suspicious, and her mouth was still firm, "I don't care about other people's affairs."
Samuel smiled lowly. His emotions were unclear, and his voice was calm and mechanical, "In March last year, there was a rape case."
