Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 219

The taping of the show came to a sudden and unexpected end. In no time, the entire school was lit up.

Soon after, the crew members, loaded with all sorts of props and equipment, walked into the guest's dorm rooms, politely saying to everyone, "Thanks for your hard work."

Chatter ensued in response.

Phyllis pulled off her earpiece and made a beeline for Jarvis and the others, complaining right off the bat, "I'm so frustrated. I couldn't speak at all and I was practically mute!"

Just then, Jaqueline also came over and said with a sob in her voice, "Even though I was playing a ghost, the other people who were playing ghosts without their makeup off were really scary! I wanted to scream but couldn't. I was terrified!"

Simon responded with a smile, "But it's a new experience, isn't it?"

Jaqueline had a crush on Simon. When she saw him smiling at her, she blushed and said, "Yeah, I guess."

At this point, Jarvis said, "This place is a mess, and the crew needs to clean up. Let's head out. Where's Ms. Lopez? Where did she run off to?"

Phyllis looked around and didn't see Eileen, neither did she see several of the crew members who were playing ghosts.

Jaqueline said, "I think she beat us to it."

When they stepped out of the dorm, they saw Eileen standing outside. She was on a video call with the assistant director on the show's tablet, "They were supposed to get paid extra for these scenes. Why aren't you paying them! Also, according to industry regulations, actors playing ghosts should get a bonus. You need to make up for that since they deserve it!"

Phyllis overheard and was touched. She told the others, "Even though Eileen can be a bit rough around the edges and somewhat violent, she has a strong sense of justice. She was the one who saved me from Kenley. I will always adore her!"

Jaqueline mumbled, "She's alright."

Phyllis quickly added, "Seriously, she's a really good person, super!"

Just as Phyllis finished saying this, she heard Eileen say to the assistant director, "Phyllis and Jaqueline, they both played ghosts, so they should get a bonus too! But they're not here now, you can send their bonuses to me and I can give it to them later. We live in the same hotel. It'll be convenient. Just send it to me now, and I'll give you my bank account number."

Phyllis and Jaqueline both fell silent.

Jaqueline turned to Phyllis and asked with a meaningful look, "Is she still good? Do you still adore her forever?"

Phyllis was silent.

A crew member came over and said, "The car is waiting downstairs, and the driver will take you guys back to the hotel to rest."

Eileen turned around and saw that the other guests had come out. She quickly stuffed her phone back into her pocket, pretending she didn't just pocket Phyllis and Jaqueline's bonuses!

On the way back, Hedy was not in the car. The crew said she had left earlier, and everyone didn't pay much attention to it. However, when they got back to the hotel, they saw Hedy at the elevator entrance. She was on the phone, and because of the distance, the others couldn't hear what she was saying. But Eileen had sharp ears, so she heard the conversation clearly.

In the phone, Hedy was saying to the other party, "Hubery, you're just like my father! You don't consider my feelings! I've told you, I didn't want to participate in this show. You knew Eileen was here too and why did you still make me come. What exactly do you want me to monitor?"

Just as she was saying this, Hedy suddenly noticed in the reflection of the elevator door that someone was coming from behind. She immediately lowered her voice and whispered into the phone, "I'll call you back later." With that, she hung up the phone.

Just then, the elevator doors opened, and Hedy quickly stepped in.

Phyllis hurriedly ran a few steps and called out, "Wait!"

Hedy glanced at Eileen in the crowd, pressed the close door button in a hurry. Phyllis watched the elevator doors close and stood at the entrance, stunned, "Is she out of her mind?"

Jarvis re-pressed the button and said casually, "Never mind."

In a while, another elevator came down. The five of them got in.

Standing in the elevator, Eileen thought back to what Hedy had just said and asked, "What's the date today?"

Phyllis did a quick calculation and said, "It's past midnight, so it's April 9th."

Eileen paused.

Simon also suddenly stopped, he exclaimed, "It's April 9th today?"

Jarvis looked at Simon, "What's wrong?"

Simon didn't say anything. He just looked at his aunt. April 9th was the birthday of his aunt in the Howard family. Eileen didn't notice Simon's gaze. She just realized that today was her 20th birthday.

20 years old... Monitoring...

She pondered the relationship between the two, and suddenly, Eileen had a realization. Could it be that in her previous life, the incident where she was kidnapped upon leaving a law office on her 20th birthday was orchestrated by Ableson and his gang?

If that was true, Ableson, he was an absolute scoundrel!
