Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 237

"Eileen." The grating but familiar male voice came from above.

Eileen set down her phone that she was idly scrolling, and when she lifted her head, she found Ableson standing in front of her.

Ableson sized up Eileen, surprised at how much more attractive she had become in the months since he'd last seen her.

Thinking about his plans, Ableson asked in a low voice, "What are you doing here?"

Eileen leaned back into the plush sofa, a cool smile gracing her face, "What do you mean? Is this place a dump where only you can come?"

Ableson was taken aback. He'd heard from Hubery and Hedy that Eileen had become quite feisty, but he never expected her to be so disrespectful towards him!

Ableson's face darkened, "After all these years I've taken care of you, this is the attitude you have towards me?"

Eileen raised an eyebrow, "Are you upset because I didn’t bow down to you? Are you upset because I didn't mourn at your grave, saying rest in peace?"

"Eileen!" Ableson reprimanded, "What on earth happened to you? You're acting like you're sick in the head!"

Eileen chuckled slowly, "I'm not sick, and you have no father, it's quite a coincidence that we both have our shortcomings."

"I think you need a lesson in manners!" Ableson remarked, his face darkening as he thought about the thugs that had been apprehended recently. He reached out to grab Eileen's arm, but the next second, a glass of red wine splashed all over his face!

"Ah!" Ableson staggered back in disbelief.

He watched in shock as Eileen, a satisfied look on her face, held the empty wine glass, he was stunned! Covered in sticky wine, his anger boiled over, "Eileen! Have you gone mad?!"

"What happened here?" A man's voice suddenly asked from the side.

Ableson turned around in rage and was immediately pacified by the sight of Laird and Blake.

Ableson quickly composed himself and explained, "Nothing, nothing happened. My daughter was clumsy and spilled the wine, there’s nothing to worry about, Mr. Laird, and Mr. Blake."

Eileen was clumsy?

Laird looked at Ableson, then at Eileen, who was handing her empty glass to a waiter.

As the host of the party, he didn't want any trouble.

He told a waiter, "Take this gentleman to freshen up."

Ableson quickly dismissed the idea and started to wipe his face with a napkin, "I'm fine, I'm fine. Eileen, stand up, greet Laird and Blake!"

Eileen ignored Ableson's nagging. She glanced at Laird, then focused her gaze on Blake. This was the third time Eileen had seen Blake. The first time she thought he was a pervert, the second time she ignored him, and now on their third meeting, she realized that he was her...

Eileen pursed her lips, not daring to speak the words aloud.

She stood and gave a small nod of acknowledgement to the two business tycoons.

Laird didn't pay much attention to these minor people and said to Blake, "Let's go."

But Blake didn't move.

Laird called out, "Blake?"

Blake ignored Laird, his brow furrowed as he inspected Eileen in her black evening gown. He scanned her from head to toe, then asked disapprovingly, "Aren't you cold dressed like that?"

Eileen was taken aback, and so was Laird.
