Defying Fate: The Unstoppable Eileen novel Chapter 246

Ableson, upon hearing this, outright slapped Sarah again!

"What the hell, sell my shares to him? In his dreams!" He barked.

Blood trickled from the corner of Sarah's mouth as she cowered in the corner of the sofa. "But...it’s the only way…”

"No way!" Ableson declared, "Even if we are to consolidate shares, he should be selling his 10% to me!"

Sarah stuttered, "But even if he's willing to sell his shares, we can't afford it..."

Ableson was taken aback.

Sarah bowed her head, "Because of that big loss, you've poured almost all our savings into the company. Now we have less than a million. How can we afford 10% of the shares..."

Ableson's face fell even more. He kicked Sarah in the stomach, blaming her, "This is all your fault! Having that jinx of a child!"

Sarah curled up, clutching her stomach and fell silent.

Ableson bowed his head, sinking into his thoughts.

Sarah managed a glance at Ableson and knew he was contemplating. A cold smirk appeared on her face. As long as Ableson agreed, she could team up with Hanson to drain his money and flee.

Ableson was no longer reliable. Ever since the company started going downhill a few years ago, Sarah had been looking for a way out. She thought Hanson wouldn't be willing to abandon his wife for her, but her efforts paid off.

A few days ago, Hanson approached her. They've agreed. As long as Ableson agreed to sell the shares, Hanson would expose the evidence of his past corruption.

Once Ableson was jailed, she could naturally file for a divorce. And once Hanson was also divorced, she could bring Hedy and move into Hanson's home.

She was an expert at this, having done it before. Even though Ableson had been initially reluctant to divorce his ex wife, he still did in the end, thanks to her tactics.

So as long as Hanson had a shred of affection for her, even if that affection was rooted in the fact that he was at her mercy, she could drive away Hanson's wife and son and take over his entire family.

Sarah was confident in her plan.

That night, at the Reed family’s house. Eileen was sitting on the sofa, munching on grapes when her phone on the coffee table rang.

She picked it up, glanced at the caller ID, and answered, "Hello?"

Five minutes later, she hung up, a relaxed smile on her face.

"I thought it would take some effort. Didn't expect it to be so simple." She muttered, putting her phone back on the table. Reaching for the grapes, she found the bowl empty.

Unhappy, she glared at Egbert, complaining, "Why did you eat them all?"

Egbert was looking at his phone. He glanced at her, calmly saying, "I didn't eat any."

Confused, Eileen scratched her head, picked up the bowl, and said, "Oh, I guess I finished them. I'll get more." With that, she scurried off to the kitchen.

When she returned, the bowl was filled with grapes again. Eileen handed the bowl to Egbert, saying, "You should eat some, don't say I didn't share!"

Egbert shook his head, his hands busy typing on his phone.

Eileen glanced at his phone, plucked a grape, and held it to his mouth, saying, "Eat it."

Egbert paused, put down his phone, looked deeply at her, and then leaned in, smiling as he bit into the grape.

Eileen watched him eat, popped a grape into her mouth, and started munching.

Egbert asked with a smile, "You’ve gotten the shares? Happy now?"

Eileen paused, turned to look at Egbert, then at his phone, and huffed, "Is there anything you don't know?"

Egbert thought for a moment and said, "I don't know when you'll accept me."

Eileen was slightly taken aback. Well, it was hard to guard against him!

She turned away, ignoring him, and continued eating her grapes.

Egbert also started eating grapes now, but every time he picked one, his hand would brush against Eileen's.

Once, twice. After the third and fourth time, Eileen looked down at Egbert holding her fingers, saying, "How am I supposed to eat grapes like this!"

Egbert retracted his hand, calmly saying, "It was an accident."

Eileen twitched the corner of her mouth, shoved the grape bowl into Egbert's arms, and stood up, saying, "I'm done eating."

With that, she scampered upstairs.

When Eileen left, Egbert's phone vibrated again. Picking it up, he saw a message from Major Warner, asking if he was going to participate in this Silverland pursuit operation.

Holding his phone, Egbert looked up at the second floor.

NightKing had been in Silverland for five days now, and it was only today that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had reached an agreement with the Silverland government. They agreed to allow their military forces to enter and conduct joint operations.

He lowered his eyes, falling silent for a moment before typing on his phone — No orders from higher up.

Which meant, he wasn't going.

Putting down his phone, Egbert exhaled, murmuring, "I wonder how much longer I can keep this from her..."
