Gorgeous Couple’s Sweet Love novel Chapter 5

The restaurant that Mr. Dunn invited me to was a luxurious restaurant which was frequented by rich people. Steve and I had come here once.

But the cost of a meal here was equivalent to half a month of Steven's salary, so he chickened out and left.

At the thought of this, I felt extremely upset. Life with the stingy Steve was so difficult. I often couldn't eat or wear the things I wanted because they were too expensive.

I was always reluctant to spend Steve's money, but he could actually afford to have a mistress. What the heck?

I got out of the cab and paid the driver. Raising my head to look at the sky, I could feel snowflakes falling on my hair and shoulders. I was lost and confused.

I really didn't know what to do next.

Steve was certain that he didn't want to divorce me, but he was merciless enough to beat me up. With my temper, I would never reconcile with this scumbag!

I majored in criminal psychology in university, and I knew human nature well. Steve had hit me, and even if he admitted his mistakes, he would repeat the same thing again.

Because deep down inside, he was conditioned to think that I would forgive him. This would make him act even more wantonly in the future.

This phenomenon existed in many marriages and families.

This was when my phone rang.

I took it out and looked at the caller display. I had probably wasted so much time that Mr. Dunn became impatient and gave me a call.

I saw the area code of his cell phone number and realized one thing.

Mr. Dunn was from City B.

I answered the call, and his low as well as husky voice rang out. "Miss Shears, why are you standing beside the pole?"

Miss Shears. Mr. Dunn was no longer calling me by my name.

In fact, I like it whenever he called me "Emma Shears" with his low and masculine voice. He always sounded exceptionally tender whenever he called me by my name.

Could he see me from where he was in the restaurant?

I quickly hung up and entered the restaurant. As I walked, Mr. Dunn's handsome face appeared in my mind.

My mind was also flooded with images of his slender but muscular waist and long legs. The best part about him was his exquisite and prominent facial features.

I blushed at the thought of this and couldn't help but look around the restaurant in a panic.

The interior of the restaurant was elegant, and it lived up to its reputation indeed.

Mr. Dunn was sitting at a dining table by the window. His head was lowered as he sipped a glass of red wine, and his lips were a little pursed. The moment I walked over to him, he raised his head and saw me.

Like a gentleman, he nodded at me. Illuminated by the yellow lights of the restaurant, his nose bridge appeared even taller and straighter. His eyes were jet black and profound, and he was gazing indifferently at me.

He emanated an enigmatic charm indeed.

He was wearing a black woolen coat with a white sweater inside. There was also a khaki scarf around his neck.

His outfit made him seem a lot more tender.

At least, he didn't appear as cold as before.

I was hesitating whether to sit down or greet him first when he said, "Miss Shears, please take a seat."

I was surprised by how polite he was suddenly being.

Compared to his usual self who mocked me at every opportunity, he was acting a lot more gentlemanly today.

I immediately sat down across him, and he ordered a steak for me. He said, "Miss Shears, you like medium rare steak, don't you? And you don't like spicy food. Am I right?" As I gazed at his face, I slowly went into a daze. I didn't find it strange that he knew what I liked to eat either.

Only after a long while did I realize that I was being rude. I looked away in a panic and lowered my head in embarrassment.

He chuckled and said a little mockingly, "Why? Are you done looking at me?"

I was wondering why he suddenly became such a gentleman. It turned out that he was still his sarcastic self!

"Sir, why did you ask me out today?" I went straight to the point as I didn't want to quarrel pointlessly with him.

"If I remember correctly, you had sex with me." Mr. Dunn suddenly said, and he looked a little upset. I froze for a moment and nodded.

When he saw my reaction, he nodded in satisfaction and said flatly, "Since you've had slept with me, you should take responsibility for it. Miss Shears, I don't engage in casual sex."

He didn't engage in casual sex?

Based on the situation the night before yesterday, even if I pestered him, as a man, he could have easily subdued me and refused to f**k me.
