I didn't have any fear of Zack before, but the tall man walking over with an umbrella in the rain shocked me.
His handsomeness was soul-stirring, and it was even more so filled with the coldness emitting from his bones. This kind of coldness made everyone in the car feel fear for him.
September took my hand and said in amazement, "Oh my god, he literally is one of a kind. I thought Joel was cold and indifferent enough but that thought stops today. Compared to Zack, the other men are really nothing."
Zack opened the door, put away the umbrella, and sat down. He asked in a cold voice, "What's the mission?"
"No mission." Riley smiled and said, "Officer Shears suggested that everyone gather together. She was afraid that you wouldn't come, so she asked me to lie that there's a mission."
Hearing this, Zack's eyes fell on me. I looked at him with embarrassment and didn't know how to explain it, because Riley had already made it sound very real, not to mention the way Zack felt about me. I smiled and said, "I was afraid that you will feel bored at home."
Zack's lips curved into a smile. Embarrassed, I withdrew my gaze and reached out to pinch September's thigh. When we got to the club, I fell behind and said to September, "Don't let me take the blame ever again!"
"Riley told me to get Mr. I'm-good-by-myself out." September smiled and said, "But I didn't know how so I had to lie to you."
And they had to sacrifice me for the lie?
September explained, "There is no proper reason that we could use to ask Zack out. And I remembered how you talked Zack into coming with us last time with a few simple words."
I rolled my eyes at September. She hooked her arm around my shoulder and said with a smile, "Don't be angry. I'll tell you a secret."
She distracted my attention. Puzzled, I asked, "What secret?"
September asked mysteriously, "Do you what I found out?"
Of course I didn't.
If I did, I wouldn't have come along.
September looked at my lived face and hurriedly said, "Do you know what business the Dunn family does?"
I shook my head. I really didn't know about this.
He never mentioned it to me.
"I have a college classmate who is working in City B. She mentioned inadvertently that Teresa is a relative of her. She said that Benjamin once loved Teresa, and he even broke the relationship with the Dunn family for her!"
I was in a state of panic. I knew that the relationship between Benjamin and Teresa was not ordinary, but I did not know that he had such deep feelings for her! He was even willing to break off from his family for her sake.
"And that's a secret?" I asked, trying my best to remain calm.
"Of course not!" September patted me on the shoulder and said, "Benjamin is your man now, so I shouldn't say these. But... I hope you can completely understand him and what kind of man you're with!"
She was right. I should know more about Benjamin.
Every single one of the officers got wasted except September, who was pregnant.
She took me from Zack's hand and said with a smile, "Zack, I'll take her home. Otherwise, her man's gonna get jealous all over again."
Zack was silent for a long time before he said alright coldly.
September put her arm around my waist and pushed me into the taxi. I had some questions to ask, but my mind was already a chaotic mess by then.
I remembered being put down on the bed from someone's arms. Whoever put me there was extremely gentle.
It was as if he was dealing with treasures that were extremely precious.
"Mmhm," I moaned comfortably, and a teasing voice rang beside my ear. "The drunker you are, the more seducing you look."
I opened my eyes in a daze and saw Benjamin's handsome face in front of me. I wrapped an arm around his neck and asked with a smile, "Where's September?"
"She left." Benjamin rubbed my cheek and asked in a low voice, "Mrs. Dunn, are you alright?"
"Well, I'm good." I shook my dizzy head and said, "I feel much better after a nap."
Benjamin lowered his body and smiled charmingly. In a gentle tone, he asked, "Can Mrs. Dunn deal with sexual affairs now?"
"Yes, I can." I raised my head and kissed his lips.
Only one light was on in the room. The gloomy light was like the color of the sunset, falling on Ben's body. I reached out and touched his black hair, which was a little wet. I guessed that he had just taken a bath.
His eyes were very deep, and he looked at me with his dark eyes. I licked his lips and said with a smile, "Wouldn't Mr. Dunn close his eyes when kissing me?"
"It's rare to see you drunk, I don't wanna waste this chance," Benjamin said. His features were unworldly, and his voice was particularly deep and pleasant to listen to, as if it were a spring breeze.
I was almost sober except for feeling a bit dizzy.
I rubbed my face against his shoulder and put my legs around his waist. Then I said softly, "Mr. Dunn, am I beautiful?"
I would admit that I was shameless.
"You are."
His fingers caressed my cheeks.
I pretended to ask casually, "What does your family do?"
He curled his lips and asked, "Why?"
"You're good at sweet words," I said with a smile.
"What does that have anything to do with my family?"
The voice of Benjamin sounded a little confused. His lips rubbed against my cheek and his fingers touched my waist. He said in a low voice, "Do you have something to ask me?"
He was smart enough to see my hidden thoughts.
And he knew what I wanted to know.
He even asked me before I asked the question myself.
Obviously, he didn't want to mention it to me, and he also hoped that I would not ask again.
