Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 355

"Quit your act." Jared said coldly, "As far as I'm concerned, your little tricks are just child's play."

Beatrice didn't expect Jared to see through her.

She had done her best to act.

But Beatrice couldn't admit it.

"Jared, I don't understand what you're talking about, did I say something to upset you? If so, I apologize."

Jared couldn't be bothered to argue with someone playing dumb.

His voice was as cold as ice: "Beatrice, I won't repeat myself again today, for your sister's sake, this is the last time. If something like this happens again, I will call the press and security."

"Jared, I was drunk, talking nonsense. You took it seriously, but I honestly can't remember what I said just now."

"Leave now, and don't ever show up in front of me again. If you try to stir up trouble between your sister and me again, I'll make sure you get what's coming to you."

Beatrice feigned confusion: "Jared, I'm leaving first, you're not going to tell Agnes about what happened today, are you?"

Jared's expression remained unreadable, and he held his silence.

Would he tell Agnes about this confrontation? He certainly didn't want to distress her.

Suddenly, Beatrice broke into a sly chuckle. "You know, Jared, there's probably something wild Agnes did for Elton that you're unaware of. Don't let her poised exterior fool you. Deep down, Elton still occupies a piece of her heart. After their break-up, she grew disillusioned with the concept of marriage and just impulsively settled down with someone. We grew up together, and while we may have our differences, no one understands her better than I do. Her inability to forgive Elton stems from her lingering love for him. Why don't you ask her about the significance of the tattoo on the nape of her neck?"

A chill swept across Jared's features, his face a mask of icy detachment.
