" Melissa is actually two months pregnant and the reason why she fled from the village was because this lady wanted to see her and take her away." Joshua dropped the bomb

The entire crowd gasped and so did I!-

Since when did I become pregnant?

I looked at uncle Dan and he gave me death glares but me being the innocent little girl I was, went and hid behind the girl Anna who seemed to be my way out of this marriage.

" Melissa! I swear I'm going to---"

" don't even think about killing her uncle Dan," Joshua interrupted, "This woman is from a rich family in America and her brother is the one who got Melissa pregnant. He loves Melissa a lot and if he finds out that you killed her and his baby, he will put you in jail for the rest of your life!"

Hearing this, everyone else who had come to drag me back to the wedding took a step back from me including uncle Dan.

"Is it true, are you really pregnant?" He asked and I nodded my head shyly hiding behind the girl again.

"What about you lady is everything he just said true?"

Uncle Dan asked  Anna and after Joshua translated the woman nodded her head and she even said a few more words.

We all turned to look at Joshua for a translation.

"She has said that her brother loves Melissa a lot and wants to marry her. He is also willing to pay twenty-five cows plus cash of five thousand  just to keep her and the baby."

Hearing that I was worth more than fifteen cows, uncle Dan's lips curled upwards.

You can see the joy and happiness coming out of him in large waves. Greedy!

" golden goose I mean princess come let's go home eh," he said with a wide smile on his face, " I'm pretty sure the hot summer sun is hurt you and the baby right? But you don't have to worry, I will carry you and make sure your feet don't hurt."

He picked me up bridal style and another one of my elder brothers uncle Andrew pluck a banana leaf and held it above me like an umbrella to protect me from the hot morning sun.

If I knew getting myself pregnant would make my brothers treat me like a true princess, I would have done It a long time ago.

Another one of my brothers uncle Anthony who was uncle Andrew's twin also plucked up a banana leaf and made it as an umbrella for Anna.

I was feeling giddy inside, I hated walking and only ever wanted to be carried around and right now uncle dan was making my fantasies come true.

I now have them wrapped around my finger and I can just whine and they will be at my disposal treating me like royalty, sweet!

After walking for a while, We finally reached the village were everyone was already gathered including the chief who gave me death glares and so did the other villagers including papa.

The only one who gave me a look of sympathy and sadness was mama.

'They won't hurt me I'm pregnant and my husband will put them in jail if they lay a finger on me!" I repeatedly told myself.

"My king, I have bad news for you." Uncle Dan solemnly began with me still in his strong arms.

"You have to cancel the wedding because my little sister here is not a virgin."

Gasps echoed around and their dirt looks increased ten ford.

"I don't care!" The chief responded through gritted teeth, "the wedding is happening whether she likes it or not!" he commanded in a harsh tone and I flinched.

" I'm sorry sir but that's not the worst thing, she is two months pregnant and this woman here,"  he pointed at Anna, "is her soon to be husband's sister."

The chief and papa both looked angry and in less than a second, one of the chief's guards handed the chief a rifle.

" I will kill her right now!" The chief declared with anger pointing the riffle at me, I hid my face in uncle Dan's chest but later on peaked to see the chief's reaction.

"No no my chief!" uncle Dan quickly said while Anna stood in front of us protectively,

" Pardon me for saying this but you are already old sir and if you kill my little sister, her husband will come all the way from America and put you in jail with hard labour! You don't want to spend the rest of your remaining days in jail now do you? Plus the man is very rich, richer than the president of our country and just imagine what kind of hard labour he will impose on you if you kill her and the baby."
