"I heard from those who were there, man, Jay was off the rails, seriously! It was like a bunch of dudes trying to hold back a bull at a rodeo, like he'd never laid eyes on a woman before!"
"He was rushed to the ER, dude. They were on him for ages, nearly didn't make it."
"No way? That intense?" Astrid sat up, her eyes wide with excitement, "Nash is a legend, man. That stuff he's got is fire. Gotta hit him up for some!"
Jon couldn't believe where Astrid's mind was at. He was speechless, "Star, you're a girl. Why would you want that stuff?"
"Can't you have, like, a shred of modesty?"
"Give me a break, Jon. Modesty? Sorry, not in my vocabulary!" Astrid finished her rant and logged off the game with a click.
At that moment, it was two minutes to nine.
Jay sat glued to his computer screen, obsessively refreshing his inbox, but nothing new popped up.
He was getting antsy, ready to shoot over an email to check in, when, just as he was about to hit send, a new message arrived.
His heart leapt at the sight of folders in the attachment, but when he tried to open them, nothing happened.
That's when he remembered what Aster had said: no password until the money was in. "Pay up, quick!"
"Right away." Julie transferred the cash to Aster's given account, and just then, their phone rang with a call from the entertainment bigwig.
Julie had barely said hello when a man's roar blasted through, "What's the deal? You promised me the scoop by nine, you set the time, and now where's the stuff? You trying to make me look bad to my followers?"
