Chapter 40 She Put Her Face Over to Signal Him to Kiss
When Kendrick came home, he could smell the aroma of food.
The Wonder Villa used to be a place just for him to rest.
Now, it felt more like home.
Natalie hurriedly served out the freshly made paella from the kitchen.
She also put one-eighth of a lemon on top.
"Today's dinner is paella," Natalie smiled and said, "I really made it this time."
The lobsters were all washed and dissected by herself.
Kendrick frowned, "What happened to your eyes?"
Natalie's eyes were red and watery.
Natalie was embarrassed, "They're burned by onions."
Kendrick took the eye drops from the living room and said, "Lift your head and open your eyes."
When an eye drop dripped down, Natalie closed her eyes.
The eye drops were all on her eyelids.
Natalie blinked. She was trying to get the eye drops into her eyes.
Kendrick was speechless by Natalie's clumsy look. He took a tissue to wipe her eyelids and said, "Look above, don't move."
Natalie learned well this time and looked up obediently.
"Drip."
When the eye drop dripped down, Natalie closed her eyes again.
She was responsive and agile.
Kendrick, "..."
Kendrick withdrew his hand.
Natalie said hesitantly, "Maybe, it's better to do it myself!"
A hand covered Natalie's cheek. Kendrick used his fingers to pull open Natalie's eyes. He threatened her without an expression, "If you close your eyes again, I'll use a cotton swab to hold up your eyelids."
"So fierce!" Natalie complained in her heart.
However, Kendrick's threatening plus forcing really worked.
He held Natalie's eyelids open to prevent her from blinking.
Kendrick was able to finish dripping the eye drops smoothly.
Natalie blinked her eyes and said hurriedly, "Try the paella I made."
Although Kendrick had no special preferences, he never really ate food with a strong taste like seafood.
Nevertheless, he still scooped a spoonful of paella into his mouth.
He rarely ate seafood, but the paella tasted fragrant, fresh, and lemony. There were no odd smells.
The flavor was good and it was obvious that Natalie had put all of her efforts into this.
"How was it? How was it?"
Natalie tried it a while ago and she knew that it tasted good.
But Natalie still wanted to receive Kendrick's compliment.
Looking at Natalie's eager eyes, Kendrick nodded slowly.
Natalie immediately scooped out a large piece of lobster meat and put it in Kendrick's bowl.
"Although it's my first time cooking this, it's a success. It's comparable to those made by chefs with three Michelin stars."
It was valuable to know oneself.
"You can also be very successful if you go to sell melons."
Natalie pushed Kendrick, "You can just agree!"
Kendrick snorted lightly and didn't speak. However, he scooped another mouthful of rice into his mouth.
...
In the evening, Kendrick was dealing with work in the study as usual. Natalie knocked on the door and entered with a glass of milk.
"I brought you a glass of warm milk."
She walked over and put the milk on Kendrick's desk.
"Thank you," Kendrick replied politely. Then, he handed a document folder on the table to Natalie and said, "Look at this."
Natalie, "For me?"
"Yeah."
Natalie picked it up and opened it. It was a letter of appointment from the Ramsey Group.
Kendrick wanted to assign her directly to the strategic planning department.
The remuneration was equivalent to that of high-level executives.
There were even stock options.
