Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 363

There was an old saying about the kind of success that rises too quickly: When a tree grows taller than the forest, the wind comes for it.

Andres had climbed too fast. Jealousy, attacks, people waiting for him to slip—he'd expected all of it.

They got in the car together and headed for the city's largest shopping center.

Maeve didn't like wasting time on shopping.

She stepped into a women's boutique, chose a fitted black evening dress, and changed.

In front of the mirror, she turned once.

It looked good. She was about to tell the attendant to wrap it up when Andres cleared his throat.

"Maeve. Maybe try another one."

She glanced at him, puzzled. "What's wrong with this dress?"

Andres wanted to say: Nothing's wrong with the dress. You're the problem.

Maeve's figure was—frankly—unfair. The dress made her look like she'd stepped off a runway: elegant, lethal, impossible to ignore. Beautiful, yes. But it hugged too much, revealed too much—especially at the shoulders and along her thighs.

Andres imagined her walking into a room full of people wearing that.

A sharp, irrational possessiveness flared in his chest, tightening his grip on the moment.

So he pointed to another dress—still black, still fitted, but more conservative. "That one would suit you."

It was silk, sleek, with a subtle mermaid hem—stylish, polished, and far more refined.

Maeve could practically see the gears turning in his head.

So her husband was one of those blunt, territorial men after all.

"Fine," she said. "I'll trust you once."

While Maeve changed in the fitting room, Andres lowered his voice to the sales associate.
