Divorce Failed My Wife's Secret Identities Shock the World novel Chapter 580

"You're in love with Audrey."

It was a statement of absolute certainty, not a question.

Victor hadn't expected Simon to expose his feelings so sharply and accurately.

He didn't dare look at Audrey, terrified the humiliation would crush him.

Audrey looked utterly stunned.

"Victor, don't confess to things you didn't do."

Lab C valued talent, but its strict rules were paramount.

Simon despised anyone who broke the rules he set.

Moreover, she had been the one to recommend Victor for a job at the lab.

She felt a sense of responsibility toward him.

Their families used to be close friends.

After Victor's family business went bankrupt, his parents passed away due to failing health.

Victor had always been a hard worker, never taking advantage of their families' connection to demand favors from the Sinclair family.

The more cautious and restrained he was, the more Audrey wanted to help secure him a bright future.

She never imagined that he would entangle himself in Maeve's trial.

With the truth out, Victor no longer tried to hide his feelings.

"The Boss is right. I do love you. I love you enough to do anything for you."

"I know you only see me as a friend, and that your heart belongs to someone else."

"I don't care who you love. I only care about making you happy."

"You didn't want Maeve to pass this trial, so I naturally figured out a way to make your wish come true."

"I killed him. He was just a human guinea pig in this lab."

"Whether he died a day early or a day late made no difference to me."

Unable to listen to his vile excuses any longer, Maeve stepped forward and slapped Victor hard across the face.

"You didn't ruin my trial. You ruined your own conscience and humanity."

She pointed at the man lying on the autopsy table.

"Trials go both ways. I regret to inform you that Lab C has failed mine."

Maeve walked out without looking back.

There was no need to stay. Before Stetson died, he had secretly slipped her the S-level encrypted microchip.

Once she cracked the code on that chip, the secrets hidden inside the First Archives wouldn't matter anymore.

Watching her walk away, Connor leaned in and muttered, "Boss, aren't you going to go after her?"

Simon stood rigidly in place.

"She's furious right now. Let her cool off first."

He turned to Victor, his expression ruthless. "You're fired."

Audrey couldn't help but plead for him.

"Boss, he just had a moment of weakness."

Simon didn't show an ounce of mercy.

"If you don't want to get fired alongside him, keep your mouth shut."
