Lillian hoped that having him meet Stephen first, before anyone else, would be more suitable.
It would be a preliminary introduction. Lillian was worried that if the rest of the Lancaster family saw Leonard’s poor health, they might have reservations.
Stephen had been wanting to meet the man hidden away in Halfridge Villas for a while, but he never had the chance.
Now that Lillian was suggesting it, he certainly wouldn't refuse the opportunity.
“Yes, of course. I’ve been dying to meet my future brother-in-law. Even if you hadn’t suggested it, my curiosity was getting the better of me.”
“But is it okay to decide so suddenly?”
“Let’s just have a casual meeting at my place today. Tomorrow, when our uncles get back from Midvale, you can all meet together. How does that sound?”
Stephen understood Lillian’s little scheme.
She was using him as a scout. But that was fine. He was more than happy to be the first in the family to meet the man.
“Lillian, you’re truly clever. I’m impressed.”
“Alright, I’ll meet him first.”
Before heading back to Halfridge Villas, Lillian called Leonard to let him know.
Leonard had been thinking about this for a while, so he agreed without hesitation.
After hanging up, Lillian looked at Stephen. “It’s settled. He’ll be thrilled you’re coming home with me now.”
Stephen said, “Although I haven’t formally met him, from what I can see, his capabilities are likely on par with the Blake family.”
“Lillian, how old is he?”
