Reunion?
So that was her little scheme.
Thank god she had dodged that bullet. Otherwise, she would have fallen right into the mother-daughter duo's trap.
Yeah, it looked like she needed to be a lot more careful from now on.
What was Bella's deal, anyway? Constantly trying to serve her up on a silver platter.
The old man had always looked down on her. There was zero chance she could ever waltz back and properly marry Old Mr. Blake.
Keeping her life and having enough money to burn was already a pretty good deal in her book.
It just proved that no one in this world treated you well for nothing. If someone was being nice, they definitely had an ulterior motive.
Bella was no exception. She was just using Debbie as a stepping stone to secure a marriage to her son.
Debbie knew her son incredibly well. After all, she was the one who gave birth to him.
She had raised him single-handedly; how could she not understand how his mind worked?
Sebastian had undoubtedly inherited some of the old man's genetics. Their absolute ruthlessness was identical.
In fact, Sebastian was arguably far worse.
At least the old man genuinely doted on his wife, practically worshipping the ground she walked on. Back in the day, when Debbie's scandal had infuriated his wife, Old Mr. Blake hadn't hesitated to throw Debbie to the wolves. He would have gladly destroyed her just to prove his unwavering loyalty and love to his wife.
Rumor had it that he spent an agonizing amount of time and effort groveling before his wife finally forgave him and took him back.
It was Debbie and her son who suffered the consequences, banished from the capital. Fortunately, after the Blakes' legitimate son passed away, Sebastian was accepted into a prestigious university back in Northwyn. The family hadn't chased them away again; instead, they watched silently from the shadows to see how far the boy would climb.
Sebastian certainly possessed the formidable Blake family genes. He was driven and highly capable.
Bella was willing to toss millions of dollars her way just to keep her entertained. Debbie knew full well this was a once-in-a-lifetime jackpot.
Once the truth inevitably exploded, once Bella realized Debbie's actual non-existent status in the Blake family and her total lack of leverage over Sebastian, the girl was going to deeply regret every cent she spent.
So, for now, she was absolutely determined to keep up the charade and prevent Bella from discovering the truth too soon.
Whatever Sabrina suggested, she would just nod and agree. Empty promises cost her nothing.
Certain that there was zero chance of running into Old Mr. Blake again that day, the two women didn't linger at the club much longer.
Sabrina had her driver drop Debbie off at her hotel first before finally calling Bella to report on their progress.
Bella had been completely distracted from work all day, anxiously waiting for this call to bring her good news.
The moment it connected, she demanded urgently, "Did it work?"
