Julian snapped to attention. "Right, of course." He quickly pulled out his phone and started recording.
Bella let out a soft laugh. "Can the company really not function without me for a day?"
Smiling, she took the pen. As she reached for the document, Sebastian kept his hand firmly over the top half of the page, guiding her to the signature line.
"Don't get up," he said smoothly. "I'll hold it steady. Just sign here."
Bella gazed up at him. His rare display of gentleness had been exactly what she needed in her vulnerable state. Blinded by the affection she had always craved, she signed her name without a second thought.
The moment the ink dried, Sebastian pulled the document away. As he moved to close the folder, he deliberately flipped to the first page, ensuring the camera captured the bold heading: The Blake Pre-Nuptial Agreement.
He snapped the folder shut and slid it into his briefcase.
Julian stopped recording and pocketed his phone. Catching Sebastian's subtle nod, the secretary spoke up. "Miss Ward, is there anything else you need? If not, I'll head downstairs and wait for Mr. Blake."
Bella certainly didn't want a third wheel ruining her romantic moment. "I'm fine. You can go."
Once Julian left, Bella wrapped her arms around Sebastian again. "I thought you were being so strict lately because you were unhappy with my work."
