"Oh, by the way," Bella added, her eyes brightening. "When Sebastian visited, he told me we could go get our marriage license the moment I'm feeling better. I want to pick a date in the next couple of days to lock it down. I don't want any unexpected delays."
Sabrina beamed at the news. This was it. Once that piece of paper was signed, her daughter would officially be a prominent figure in the Blake family, securing their elite status forever.
"Really? He suggested it?"
"Yes. He told me to pick the day."
"Thank goodness!" Sabrina clapped her hands. "My daughter is finally going to be a billionaire's wife. Do you have any idea how long I've waited for this? I can finally breathe easily."
"Securing the license is the first step," Bella said, her tone shifting to business. "But Mom, do you think the Mercers will provide any more money for my dowry? What they've offered so far is pathetic. It makes me look cheap."
Sabrina shook her head. "I wouldn't count on it. They can barely keep their own heads above water right now. If their finances were stable, they would have easily handed over millions of dollars. But right now, their accounts are dry. They simply don't have the cash."
Bella frowned, displeasure washing over her features. "Fine. If they can't cough it up, I'll have to squeeze it out of the Blakes. Has Ms. Harris still refused to visit Old Mr. Blake at the club?"
