Sebastian hung up the phone, his scowl deepening as he sat behind his desk. The thought of those two women colliding gave him a massive headache.
He immediately dispatched men to investigate the casinos Debbie had frequented, while ordering another team to track Bella's movements.
It suddenly dawned on him that Bella had been staying at a hotel, paying for it with the Black Card before he froze it. There was a solid chance she was hiding out there. He quickly sent operatives to search the hotel.
Meanwhile, at the hotel.
Debbie slept until noon, waking up to her stomach growling violently. She suddenly remembered the takeout Bella had ordered for her the night before.
Her palate had grown incredibly spoiled; the mere sight of cheap, pre-packaged food made her gag. Going from premium ingredients to cheap takeout had killed her appetite. Even though she had been starving last night, she had refused to touch it.
Now, the hunger was unbearable.
Reluctantly, Debbie wandered out of the bedroom and opened the untouched plastic bag from the night before. The moment she lifted the lid, a sour, rancid smell hit her. It hadn't been refrigerated, and after nearly twelve hours, the food was entirely spoiled.
Pinching her nose, she pushed the container far away. Glancing at the clock, she realized it was past midday. Even if Bella wasn't going to show up, she couldn't just leave her to starve, right? Knowing she had no money, no phone, and no ID, was the girl actually planning to let her rot here?
