She looked as pitiful as could be.
Ignoring everyone else, she rushed straight toward Grace, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Grace, how could you do this to me?"
"I know you hate me, you hate me for taking Ethan, but… but you can't retaliate like this!"
Grace watched her, her expression perfectly calm, as if observing a poorly executed one-woman show.
"What are you talking about?"
"Still pretending!"
Lilian shrieked as if her tail had been stepped on.
"Don't think I don't know! You think you can clean up your image just because you latched onto Mr. Clarke and started some pathetic company?"
"At your core, you're still the same parasite who can't survive without clinging to a man!"
As she spoke, she suddenly pulled a handful of photographs from her bag and threw them violently onto the floor.
The photos scattered everywhere.
They were all of Grace and Ethan from the past.
There were innocent snapshots of them on their college campus, sweet moments from when they got their marriage license, and a picture of Grace gazing at Ethan with pure adoration as she celebrated his birthday.
Each one was a record of Grace's past love, a love so deep it had humbled her to the dust.
"Everyone, take a good look!"
Lilian pointed at the photos on the floor, her voice hoarse with accusation.
"This woman hasn't behaved herself even after the divorce!"
"She's been stringing Mr. Clarke along while still being obsessed with my husband, constantly trying to seduce him!"
"Ethan has been bewitched by her! That's why he was so cruel to me! That's why he threw me out of our home!"
She cried a river of tears, acting as if she were the one who had been wronged and betrayed.
"Grace, I'm begging you, please leave us alone! Give me back my family, give me back my husband, please?"
Her twisted version of events made many in the crowd frown.
Involuntarily, all eyes turned to a corner of the ballroom.
A lonely figure stood there.
It was Ethan.
