They stared at her blankly, not comprehending for a moment.
Grace’s gaze swept over their faces before finally landing on Dorian, who had remained standing the entire time.
"What about Lilian?"
she asked.
"How is she?"
The question brought a flash of ecstasy to Cassian’s and Lucian’s faces.
They thought it was a sign that Grace was softening.
Cassian scrambled to answer, his tone dripping with eager sycophancy.
"Sister! You… you really do have a good heart!"
"After everything she did to you, you’re still concerned about her!"
"Don’t you worry, that venomous woman is no longer a Hart. We’ve already disowned her!"
"Whether she’s dead or alive, or where she is now, we don’t know and we don’t want to know!"
He tried desperately to distance himself, as if Lilian were a plague to be avoided at all costs.
"Grace, you’re our only real sister!"
Listening to his words, a deeply sarcastic smile touched Grace’s lips.
She didn’t look at Cassian again, turning her gaze back to Dorian.
Dorian looked uncomfortable. He was silent for a moment before answering truthfully.
"After she was sent to the mental hospital, Ethan broke off their engagement."
"When we went bankrupt, no one was paying the hospital bills, so they kicked her out."
"Ethan… Ethan also threw her out of his villa. I heard she’s renting a tiny room in the slums now, just drifting through her days."
Dorian’s voice was low.
Unlike Cassian, he didn’t use vicious words to describe Lilian.
He was simply stating the facts.
"Oh."
Grace nodded, her face still impassive.
