But now...
She was going to live for herself.
The voice on the other end was audibly delighted. “Can you start in a month, Ms. Hart?”
“Yes.”
“Excellent. We will send out the formal invitation letter shortly. Welcome to OrionVale, Ms. Hart.”
After hanging up, Grace collected herself.
In a month, everything here would have nothing to do with her anymore.
...
It was nightfall by the time she returned to the Hart family’s villa.
Crash—
The moment the door opened, a delicate cup flew through the air and struck her squarely on the forehead, instantly raising a purple bruise.
Grace staggered back a step, nearly losing her balance.
A harsh, cold voice followed.
“How could I have such a venomous sister!”
Cassian Hart stormed over, his hand raised to strike her again.
“You’re so desperate for attention that you’d risk people’s lives? Do you have any idea that the lab exploded today? Lilian and I were almost killed in there!”
A constant ringing filled Grace’s ears as her head was knocked to the side.
She froze for a second before managing to force the words from her dry throat.
“I told you before, the ratios in your new experiment were dangerous. There was no room for error, not even the slightest deviation, or it would risk an explosion. But you wouldn't listen.”
