Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 379

Grace sat by the window, stirring her latte.

The coffee shop was in Terminal 3 of the airport, bustling with people, each heading toward a different destination.

“Sorry to keep you waiting.”

A slightly hoarse female voice spoke.

Grace looked up.

Amelia stood before her, still dressed in a Chanel couture suit, holding a limited-edition Hermès Birkin bag, her makeup impeccable.

But her eyes were filled with exhaustion.

Amelia sat down without ordering anything.

“I didn’t think you’d actually come to see me off.”

Grace put down her spoon, her tone light. “You’re leaving. As an old rival, it would be poor form not to come.”

Amelia had repeatedly tried to frame her, and Damien had wanted to send her to jail, but Grace had stopped him.

“Grace, you won.”

Amelia took a plane ticket out of her bag and placed it on the table.

A one-way ticket to Evershade Melissaarches.

“But I didn't lose to your skills.” Amelia leaned forward, a final trace of unwillingness in her eyes. “I lost because of the people on your side.”

Grace raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”

“If Damien hadn't protected you, if the Clarke family hadn’t mobilized all their resources to help you, how could you possibly have fought the Cross Group on your own?”

Amelia grew more agitated, her fingers gripping the edge of the table. “My downfall was being surrounded by sharks and vultures, bloodsuckers who only wanted to tear a piece of flesh from me! But you…”

She paused, her gaze turning bleak. “You have a Damien who would give his life for you.”

Grace found her words laughable.

Those words made Amelia's face go deathly pale.

She opened her mouth to argue but found that all her pride seemed fragile and weak in the face of Grace’s traumatic past.

“Heh…”

Amelia lowered her head and let out a soft, self-deprecating laugh.

“Yes, I am a daughter of the Cross family.”

She looked up, her eyes slightly red, but she stubbornly held back her tears. “A daughter of the Cross family can only win; she can’t lose. That’s my fate.”

The boarding announcement sounded over the intercom.

Amelia stood up, smoothed her skirt, and put her sunglasses back on.

“Goodbye, Grace. We won’t meet again.”
