Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 55

Grace's expression shifted from initial panic and desperation to a dead, ashen gray.

So, this was despair.

Not only was she being sold off like cattle by her own family, but the man she had loved with all her heart for five years had personally pushed her into the abyss.

Her heart no longer felt pain.

In the wake of that extreme, suffocating despair, a strange, do-or-die calm began to slowly bloom from the depths of her soul.

She couldn't just sit here and wait.

She couldn't let them win.

Slowly, Grace wiped the cold tear tracks from her cheeks.

She lifted her head, and in her lifeless eyes, a small but fiercely determined flame flickered to life.

The flame of revenge.

If there was no one to rely on, then she would be her own savior.

She picked up the phone from the floor.

Good thing these old phones were built to last.

It still worked.

She quickly opened the phone's messaging function.

She didn't try to call anyone else.

First, she used the web browser to log into her cloud storage. Then, she took the audio file she had recorded at the Aurelia Grand Hotel—the one of Cassian and Simon Brooks's dirty deal—and sent it via a multimedia message to an overseas email address she rarely used.

Then, as quickly as she could, she composed a new text message.

[My name is Grace. I am being held against my will by my family at 16A, The Hills Residences, Jarrow City. They are trying to force me to marry Simon Brooks, chairman of the Brooks Group. If this message becomes public, use this recording as proof. Help me.]

She stared at the message.

Who to send it to?

Once again, the face of that man appeared in her mind.

Mr. Clarke.

That ruthless, untouchable, powerful man from the capital.

The man who had given her the 'Stardust' award and wished her a 'bright future.'
