I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 277

My mind went blank, my blood turning to ice in my veins. Without thinking, I began to struggle again, more violently this time. I tried to wriggle out from under him, but he simply wrapped his arms around me, locking me against his body. It was then that I truly understood the vast difference in our strength. He had only been tolerating my previous attacks, which was why I had been able to run, to hit him.

He lifted me effortlessly and carried me towards the stairs. Each step felt like a step towards my own execution.

I kicked and screamed, my voice filled with desperation. “Steven, put me down! Are you insane? You go on and on about my past, you know how close Horace and I are, and you still want to sleep with me? I thought you were a germaphobe! How can you even stand to touch me?”

He didn’t respond.

Frantic, I bit down hard on his neck.

He grunted in pain, his handsome face tightening. “Zephyra, I suggest you let go. Or I will make you pay for this, with interest.”

Damn it. He was serious.

I released him, as he had demanded, and then slapped him across the face, my voice laced with venom. “Steven, you need to think very carefully about what you’re doing. I’m not easy. I told you this morning, even if I agree not to divorce you, I will make your life a living hell. I will drive you to an early grave. This is who I am. I can’t change.”

“And… and I’m bad luck for my husbands! If you touch me, you will die a horrible death. It’s not too late to stop.”

A red handprint was already forming on his cheek, and the bite mark on his neck was a stark, angry red. He glanced at me, his expression unreadable. “Is that so?”

Then, he kicked open my bedroom door and threw me onto the bed.
