I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 358

“Is she back yet? Zephyra loves sweet and sour ribs, so please ask her to make extra for lunch today.”

He then turned back to me and asked, “Is there anything else you’d like to eat? I’ll have it arranged.”

I shook my head. “No, that’s fine. I’m just recovering from being sick, so I don’t have much of an appetite. I’ll eat whatever.”

Horace immediately said, “You need something nourishing to recover. I’ll have the cook make you some soup. Sweet and sour ribs might be a bit heavy, let’s change it to braised ribs, okay?”

He was always so thoughtful and knew my tastes perfectly. I was touched. “Whatever you think is best.”

Horace looked at Mrs. Spencer. “Mom.”

Mrs. Spencer put down the strawberries. “I just asked her, she’s cooking now. Don’t worry, Zephyra won’t go hungry.”

She seemed to have composed herself and smiled. “Rachel called earlier too. She said she picked up her boss, and he wanted to come have lunch with us. They should be here soon. I already told the cook to add more dishes so we can all eat together.”

Horace had no objection. “Okay.”

I, on the other hand, was a little surprised. Hugh, the one who likes chess?

He didn't even know Horace, did he? Why would he skip a fancy restaurant to eat home-cooked food in a hospital?

Just then, my phone rang. It was Ryan. I glanced at Horace, and he reluctantly let go of my hand.

I stepped aside to take the call. Ryan’s boisterous voice came through the phone, “When are you coming home for lunch? Leonard took the antiques we got from the auction and left. I’m so bored all by myself at home.”
