I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 380

Janice finally blinked in satisfaction, a vicious glint in her eyes as a cold smile formed on her lips.

Of this, I was completely unaware.

I returned to the villa Uncle Julian had bought for me. It was in the same neighborhood as Steven's, but my mansion was on a much larger estate, so even though we were in the same area, our houses were far apart.

The villa had six floors, and the ground floor alone had four-meter-high ceilings. A sense of luxury hit you the moment you walked into the foyer. A massive chandelier, at least a meter and a half long and covered in crystals, hung from the ceiling. You could tell it was beautiful even without the lights on.

I didn't pay much attention to the rest. The butler was cheerfully giving me a tour until Ryan shot him a look, and he finally quieted down.

I set up my mother's memorial tablet in a place of honor. After lighting a candle and paying my respects, I asked the butler to light a new candle for her every weekday. I also asked him to keep an eye on her grave at the cemetery and to call the police immediately if anyone tried to cause trouble.

The butler readily agreed.

After such a long and exhausting day, I was starving, and I figured my cousin must be too. I took a deep breath to compose myself and offered to take him out to eat.

"I promised to treat you to a nice meal. What do you want to eat? Name it."

Ryan slung an arm around my shoulders, grinning. "In that case, I won't be polite. I want a feast!"

He seemed to be trying to distract me. As he drove, he playfully chattered about all the different foods he wanted to eat and even told me a few jokes. Finally, I couldn't help but smile.

I sent a quick text to Horace and Rachel, then turned to Ryan.

"After we eat, I need to buy a gift. Mr. Lancaster Sr. has been very good to me, and his big birthday is coming up. I want to visit him tomorrow. After that, we can go find Uncle Julian and then head back to the Lopez family."

Mr. Lancaster Sr. had said he didn't want to see Steven on his birthday, but I decided to let it go. I'd go tomorrow to celebrate with him early. I couldn't be the reason he wasn't on speaking terms with his grandson.

Ryan grunted. "I'm going too."
