I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 492

All I did was refuse to step aside, to give up the title of Mrs. Lancaster to Verna.

But that was a war between Steven and me.

I let out a derisive laugh. “I don't care where Steven’s heart is. You were, through and through, the other woman. Before Steven and I were divorced, you were already busy getting engaged to him, fooling around with him. If I hadn't died, I would have sued him for everything he was worth and utterly destroyed the reputation of a home-wrecker like you.”

“And you're even more despicable than Steven. You knew perfectly well you were a reviled mistress in your past life, yet here you are, choosing to be one again, and so righteously at that. You say I stole your life? What life did I steal from you? Who gave you the audacity to say that?”

“But this works out perfectly. I was worried that there would be no point in torturing the present you for what happened in the past. Now that you remember everything, I won't have to feel a shred of guilt when I beat you.”

Verna's leg was throbbing, and a thin layer of cold sweat covered her face. “Go on, hit me. Break my leg if you have the guts. Mr. Lancaster will find a way to fix it anyway. I’ll just suffer a little, but the suffering you’ll endure will be far, far greater than mine!”

“And let me say it again, I am the one destined for Mr. Lancaster. The concept of being the other woman doesn't apply. You have no right to deal with me. But if you keep getting entangled with him and distracting him, this time I went after Rachel. Next time, it'll be Horace.”

She was so arrogant, so certain that no matter what I did to her, she could take it without fear.

“Still threatening me? Do you really think you're Steven?” I scoffed, then grabbed her arm and dragged her off the bed. With one good leg, Verna stumbled along as I pulled her.

She was furious, her usual composure shattering as she cursed at me through gritted teeth.

Then, I shoved her head straight into the toilet bowl.

Verna went absolutely berserk. When she lifted her head, her eyes were filled with genuine terror and intense rage.

“Zephyra, I'll kill you!”

I pushed her head back in. After a few more dunks, I grabbed the toilet brush and scrubbed it across her mouth.

“Your mouth is filthy. I need to brush your teeth for you, get rid of the stench.”

Verna had never experienced such humiliation in her life. She broke down, crying and struggling with all her might, but with her injured leg, she was no match for me.

Once I felt satisfied, I threw her aside and tossed the toilet brush on the floor in front of her.

The toilet bowl itself was clean, but the hospital's toilet brush was stained yellow and black, with a noticeable odor.

Seeing it up close, Verna didn't even have time to get up and wash her face before a wave of nausea hit her. She collapsed to the side, vomiting violently.

I washed my hands thoroughly with soap, then glanced at Verna, who was still retching in agony, and said lightly,

“Verna, be smart. My fight has always been with Steven, both in this life and the last. You're not even in my league. Stop looking for trouble.”
