I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 524

The screech of tires cut through my words.

Steven stopped the car. He seemed both incandescent with rage and terrifyingly calm.

“Zephyra,” he said, his voice dangerously low, “do you have a thing for doing it in cars?”

At first, I didn't understand. But then I saw his eyes fixed on my lips, his gaze sweeping over my body with a predatory intensity. My eyes widened in horror.

He wanted to sleep with me.

No, more accurately, he wanted to punish me.

Just like he had countless times in my past life. Whenever he was displeased or we argued, he wouldn't hit me, but he would use his methods to discipline me, often leaving me feeling worse than dead.

A knot of dread tightened in my stomach. I immediately fumbled with my seatbelt, trying to escape.

But he was faster. He unbuckled his own, leaned over, and grabbed my shoulders, his lips crashing down on mine. I refused to cooperate, so he pinned my wrists to my side and kissed me forcefully.

The spot where he’d bitten my lip earlier throbbed with pain. Trapped by the seatbelt and with my hands restrained, it was a hopeless struggle. His assault didn't stop at my lips; his hands were on my wedding dress, his kisses trailing down my neck.

His whole body was tense, his breathing ragged and suppressed, as if he was moments away from tearing me apart.

I froze, glaring at him with pure hatred. “Steven, you went through all this trouble, schemed and manipulated me, just because you realized I was good in bed? Is that it? You couldn’t stand losing it, so you remarried me to keep me around to satisfy you? You’re so twisted.”

“Is your wonderful first love unwilling to be intimate with you? Is that why you're so desperate? From what I see, she's dying to marry you, so she can't be that unwilling. So what is it? You want to have your cake and eat it too? You're disgusting.”

“Is there anything else you want to say? Get it all out now. You might not have the strength later,” Steven said, blue fire dancing in his eyes. His gaze flickered to the ring on my thumb, and his voice dropped to a cold growl.

“Making a ring for him, genuinely planning to marry him… compared to that, I feel more like a footnote in your life.”
