His deep, ink-black eyes stared intently at me. "She just disgusted me. Kiss me, and I'll consider it."
Antonia's face immediately darkened, as if she'd been deeply wronged, and she gritted her teeth.
I smiled through my own gritted teeth. That idiot Antonia. I told her to play to his tastes, and she wouldn't listen. Now I had to pay the price.
I gave Steven a peck on the cheek, but he suddenly cupped my chin and lowered his head, kissing me deeply. It was a long moment before he finally let go.
He gazed at me, his mood instantly improved.
"I have to go back to the office to handle some things. I might not be able to answer my phone, so call Gordon. He'll find me."
I nodded obediently.
As Steven left, his handsome face was an unreadable mask.
Antonia slammed her hand on the table, looking like she wanted to tear me to shreds.
"Zephyra, are you playing games with me? You tell me to seduce Stev, but then you flaunt your relationship with him right in front of me! No wonder you were suddenly so nice. This is what you were planning all along! You're not just killing me, you're twisting the knife. You... you're even more hateful than before!"
I wiped my lips and shot her a cold, sharp glare.
"If I wanted to deal with you, I wouldn't have to sacrifice myself to do it. Are you capable or not? If you can't win over Steven, then get out today."
"Of course I can!" Antonia promised immediately, as if frightened by my intensity. Then, for once, she used her brain. She looked at me curiously. "Zephyra, you seem to hate Stev. You're not planning to do something bad to him, are you?"
"None of your business," I said, looking away and standing up coldly. "Let me be clear. Stop using those disgusting, cheap tricks. Steven can't stand a cheap manipulator. You'd better make your move count. If you can't win him over in three days, don't ever show your face in front of me again."
If it weren't for the fact that Antonia had a vested interest, I wouldn't have let her near me.
Besides, she was daring to plot against Steven. When he eventually found out and taught a wicked person like her a lesson, I wouldn't feel a shred of guilt.
It takes a villain to handle a villain.
