I watched him walk into the bathroom with a smile. The second the door closed, the smile vanished from my face. I glanced at the hidden camera in the corner of the room and hurried out.

Antonia was waiting for me by the stairs. I grabbed only my file. “He’s in the shower. Good things come to those who wait. Give it another ten minutes for the drug to fully take effect, when he can’t fight back and is destined to fall into your hands. Then you can go in.”

Antonia bit her lip, staring at me intently. “Zephyra, are you sure you won’t regret this?”

I just scoffed. “Aren’t you the one doing the dirty work? It has nothing to do with me. I just made dinner. Remember to send me the photos.”

With that, I hurried away, moving so fast it felt like a ghost was chasing me.

I grabbed my car keys, drove off, and immediately called Noah.

“I’ll be at the airport in about an hour. Which flight am I on?”

“You handled it that quickly? Steven let his guard down around you? That’s rare,” Noah said with a gloating chuckle. “I’ve sent you the flight information. Don’t forget your documents. And remember to give me the bid price after the hearing.”

I hung up and sped away.
