Chapter 154 Nina’s Dream on the Cliff
Nina huffed and flung the phone away in a tiny tantrum
Amelia frowned. “Nina, we don’t throw phones.”
Her current phone was only six months old-still basically brand new to her!
The last one had survived three whole years.
She’d planned on keeping it for at least three more.

But six months ago, while Amelia was cooking, Nina had decided to hide his phone inside a full water glass.
By the time it was rescued, that trusty one-thousand-dollar veteran had gone to phone heaven.
This new one had cost one thousand eight hundred.
Amelia had budgeted it for a solid five-year run.
“Mommy… want Grandpa!”
Nina’s lower lip wobbled. Nothing else mattered right now-she needed her grandpa.
Amelia gave in. “Okay, okay, just wait a second.”
She carried Nina out of the car. The moment they stepped onto the sidewalk, Alice was already there.
Alice had been dying to see Nina and had arrived early.
“Nina! How are you?” Alice signed happily the second she saw them.
Nina spotted Alice and immediately shoved her chubby cheek forward.
Alice blinked, confused.
Amelia laughed, “She wants a kiss.”
Pure joy lit up Alice’s face.
She set down the two overflowing plastic bags she was carrying, pulled out a tissue, and scrubbed her lips thoroughly.
No makeup, no lipstick-just her natural, breathtaking face.
Even barefaced, Amelia thought Alice outshone Zoe in all glam by miles.
Alice planted a gentle kiss on Nina’s right cheek. Nina instantly offered the left one. Alice happily obliged.
Two kisses left Alice floating on air.
She picked the heavy bags back up and held them out to Amelia.
“Alice, I told you not to bring anything!” Amelia scolded lightly.
She’d specifically said Nina didn’t need more toys-they had too many already.

But Alice hadn’t listened.
Alice just curved her eyes into happy crescents. Both hands were full, so she couldn’t sign-she just looked like she really wanted to spoil Nina.
Amelia sighed with a smile, “Fine. But no more next time, okay?”
While they talked, Nina’s plump little body started squirming again.
“Mommy… Grandpa…”
She was still fixated.
Amelia found it strange how insistent she was.
She’d heard kids sometimes had scary-good intuition. So she decided to listen.
Amelia told Alice, “Alice, Nina’s grandpa’s phone suddenly went unreachable, and Nina keeps asking for. him. I’m going to take her to look for him. Want to come?”
Alice shook her head gently and sighed, “You two go. I already got to see Nina-I’m so happy. Let’s meet again next time.”
She meant it. Seeing Nina and getting kisses had filled her heart to the brim.
But Amelia still felt bad.
She said sincerely, “Next time we’ll spend the whole day together, okay?”
After saying goodbye to Alice, Amelia carried Nina back to the car and headed home first.
As soon as they walked in, the butler, Griffin, told her William had taken Frank hiking.
Once she knew which mountain, she turned right around and drove there.
On the way, after thinking it over, she called Benjamin.
“Benjamin, Nina suddenly started crying for William. We couldn’t reach him.
“Griffin said he went hiking with Frank. We’re heading there now.”
That was all she said-she didn’t voice her uneasy hunc
The next moment Benjamin responded, calm and steady, “Amelia, I’m on my way.”
He didn’t waste time. No hesitation, no extra words.
He was already standing and walking out as he spoke.
For once, Nina didn’t try to steal Amelia’s phone.
She squeezed her eyes shut tight and tried her hardest to fall asleep.
