Amelia’s eyes sparkled. She felt a little shy, but deep down, she was incredibly happy.

“Benjamin, can you call me that again?”

Benjamin said softly, “Amelia Wilson. Don’t be nervous tomorrow.”

His large hand stroked her back in slow, gentle circles- deeply soothing gesture.

“Tomorrow, I’ll be right there for everything,” he added.

Amelia gave a heavy nod.

Benjamin, who never used to stay up late, had first broken his habit to watch over a sick Nina. Now, he was willingly staying up for some adult time.

While Nina was still lost in dreams, Amelia’s muffled, soft sounds began to fill the room.

“No… Benjamin, don’t. Nina will wake up.”

They had been kissing for so long that Benjamin was no longer satisfied with just that.

He wanted more.

Amelia was inexperienced in such matters.

But stirred by Benjamin, she felt her own desires awakening.

In the darkness, the faint sound of tearing plastic was subtle.

But hearing it, Amelia trembled.

She was terrified of waking Nina.

Benjamin’s bedroom was huge, easily as big as a regular bedroom and living room put together.

Seeing how frightened she was, Benjamin simply picked her up and carried her off the bed.

They moved to the large, plush sofa in the room.

It was soft, but a stray toy car poked her in the back.

Benjamin cleared the toys away before leaning over her again.

“Don’t be afraid.” His deep, magnetic voice was so charming at that moment. “I’ll be careful.”

Benjamin’s words were sweet, but his actions told a different story.

He knew how to coax, but he didn’t know how to stop.

Even when Amelia, overcome, slapped him on the shoulder, he didn’t pause,

It was well past midnight when Amelia, completely word out, was about to pass out.

Only then did Benjamin relent.

After their late-night activities, Benjamin cleaned her up and carried her back to bed, where she fell asleep instantly.

Benjamin, however, wasn’t ready to sleep.

He straightened up the sofa, then went back to bed and watched Amelia for a while.

Finally, he was about to lie down when Nina, who had been sleeping soundly, suddenly burst into loud, frantic tears.

She cried, her eyes tightly shut, teardrops rolling down her cheeks.

Her cries tugged at Benjamin’s heartstrings. He immediately picked her up.

He whispered, “Nina? Nina, sweetheart. Wake up, look a Daddy.”

Benjamin was familiar with Nina’s cries.

This was the sound of a nightmare.

He called her name repeatedly. When she wouldn’t wake up, he grabbed his phone on silent from the nightstand, found one of Nina’s favorite songs, and played it for her.

Between Benjamin’s urging and the music, Nina finally opened her

The first thing she saw was Benjamin’s face.

With a new sob, she clung tightly to him. “Daddy! Me scared!”

Crying, she wrapped her arms around Benjamin’s neck, burying her wet, chubby face against him.

Benjamin held her close, patting her back gently. “It’s okay. Daddy’s here.

“How about Daddy takes you to play with some toys?”

As he spoke, he carried her off the bed.

There was a play corner right in the room, filled with Nina’s toys.

Benjamin walked over with her and placed a little car in her hand. “Nina, what kind of car is this?”

“Fire twuck,” Nina answered between hiccups, her eyes still filled with tears,

Benjamin pointed to another car. “And this one?”

“Garbage twuck.”

“And this?”

“Powice car.”

Nina identified them one by one.

Even though she couldn’t count to five yet, she could recognize all sorts of vehicles-far more than just five

types.
