The super outgoing Nina wanted to chat more, but Amelia was in a hurry to bathe her and didn’t let her linger.

Soon, Nina was washed clean in the bathroom of the room.

After rinsing her, Amelia pinched her plump little arms

“Nina, want to weigh yourself?”

Amelia felt it had been a while since they weighed Nina. She wasn’t sure if she had gained or lost weight.

When Nina heard “weigh,” she immediately declared, “Mommy, Nina thin!”

Amelia nodded. “Yes, yes, you’re so thin.”

Amelia finished washing Nina’s hair, changing her clothes, blow-drying, and tying her hair in the room.

By the time she was done, Benjamin had returned with Nelson.

Nelson brought freshly squeezed orange juice.

up when she saw the juice.

“Nelson, Nina drink?” she asked.

Nelson held the juice, his small face lost in thought, a little distracted.

Hearing Nina’s voice, he snapped back and nodded. “Okay.”

The juice Nelson brought had a straw in it.

Nina bit the straw and started drinking.

Amelia saw how fast she was going and reminded her, “Nina, slow down. Don’t drink so fast.

“Mommy and Daddy won’t take it from you.

“You still have to eat dinner later. If you fill up now, your tummy won’t have room for food.”

Amelia’s reminder didn’t work.

Nina didn’t drink beverages often. When she saw juice, he loved it more than anything.

The more Amelia told her to slow down, the faster she drank.

The whole cup of juice was gone in no time.

Amelia gave up scolding her.

Nina was now all cleaned up by her parents, but Amelia and Benjamin themselves had gone in the water

She and Benjamin quickly showered, then she blow-dried her hair while watching them.

“Nelson.” Nina sat on the carpet. Her eyes weren’t on the TV-they were on Nelson’s face. “What wrong?”

Nina was incredibly sensitive. Even though Nelson showed almost no expression, she could tell he was weighed down by something.

Hearing Nina ask, Nelson pressed his lips together.

He hesitated whether to tell her.

“Nelson, tell Nina?” Nina asked again.

Nelson clenched his little fists, gritted his teeth, and finally told her, “Nina, are you scared of ghosts?”

Nina had never seen a ghost. She didn’t know what ghosts were. So without thinking, she shook her head.

“No! Nina good!”

Nina puffed up proudly, like she was so amazing. Nelson saw she wasn’t afraid, so he scooted closer to her.

The two little ones huddled together. Nelson lowered his voice and shared a big secret with Nina.

“Nina, I saw my mommy. She’s right here. I can’t catch up to her.

“Nina, that was the first time I saw my mommy.”

When Nelson talked about this secret, his usually steady little face showed clear emotion for the first time.

He told Nina he had watched TV.

The TV said that when people died, they became ghosts.

Ghosts could go anywhere they wanted.

His mommy had died. But his mommy’s ghost had appeared.

Nelson wasn’t afraid. Even if his mommy was a ghost, he wanted to find her.

After Nina listened to everything, her little mind processed the information.

She didn’t fully understand, but she knew Grace was he and Nelson wanted to find Grace.

Nelson told her, “Nina, don’t tell your daddy and momy. Okay?”

He knew adults didn’t like ghosts and didn’t believe in them.

Nelson was afraid Benjamin and Amelia would think he was making things up.

Nelson’s request made Nina nod seriously.

Nina nodded and said, “Nelson, Nina find her.”
